That's So Raven -- The Raven Combo Thread

What’s the best way to tag cancel out from Raven? I can’t seem to figure anything out except maybe the EX Alter Ego that wallbounces, unless Cr.HP launches for enough time.

C.hp is enough time for a tag cancel, but mostly you only tag cancel to get out, not for combos.

I use loop x 2-3 (depending on combo) tag cancel > w/e your dude can do (for me this does almost 500 damage)

Do we have a meterless corner BnB for this guy? Can’t seem to find it.

CH anti-air cr.mp xx lp shuriken -> lp wind cross (1 hit) or super (full) is a way to get a full combo off anti-air cr.mp. Also works off max range cr.hp xx lp shuriken. cr.hp xx lp shuriken is safer than wind cross cancelling cr.hp so if you want to be safe but do a low it’s a good way to go, especially if you have meter for super. It’s 500 damage off a safe move.

If you’re close to them, cr.lp cl.hp xx lp shuriken, [cr.hp xx wind cross cancel] x3, cl.hp xx lk alter ego. Personally I think the hard knockdown is worth it in the corner though so I’d end with cr.hk.

I usually just use EX shuriken in the corner, it’s really not that big of a deal because you rarely use meter for anything else with Raven.

Could you please explain how to cancel moves. I know links are just one move after another.

Sorry for not really updating this week. I had an accounting test and it was literally the hardest test I’ve taken in my collegiate career. I’ll do some more updates tomorrow when I have time to go through the thread again. I’ve added some combos to spoiler 3, but I don’t know if I’m going to transcribe them like I did the other ones right away. There’s a long list of them, so it’ll take some time. Please show some patience.

Hey guys, how are you comboing cross-arts?
I was doing loops C.hp xx Dash Cancel xx Cross Art but sometimes the opponent changes side and I accidentally hit a Cross Assault. Also, sometimes the Cross Art whiffs.

But then I saw OnlineTony doing Sweep Dash Cancel into s.Hp cross art and i Though it must be the best option.

Yeah, my Cross Art Bnb is currently

(Hit confirm) xx Wind Cross, cr.:lp:, cr.:hp: xx Wind Cross Cancel st.:hp: xx Cross Art. I know I’ll probably take some heat for not using his 1-framer but it’s more important to me that I consistently deal damage.

Also, I was messing around in the lab and apparently if you use EX Wind Cross Cancel, the next hit in the combo counts as a counter hit. It’s really weird and probably won’t amount to much but it does add counter hit properties and added damage to the next move. Unfortunately I couldn’t connect any of his specials raw to see how they would work but it’s still an interesting concept.

I don’t think anyone has posted this yet so I will. When you do the cr.h, wind cross cancel loop do yourself a favor and make sure you hold down when you get to the end of your dash. Ravens standing hitbox is what is causing this cross under situation. Raven needs to duck so that the opposing character will fly Back over’ him and end up on the correct side.

I’ve actually had problems against Cammy and a few other characters where I do wind cross, cr.hp xx wind cross cancel, cr.hp, and I cancel into wind cross but get shuriken instead. Not sure how to deal with that since it’s spacing specific. And I was specifically trying to input wind cross after cr.hp actually connected.

Is THIS the reason I can’t seem to do the loop without crossing under them? It’s been driving me insane! Gotta try this when I get home. I thought there was some tiny window of timing that you had to dash in to stay on the right side of them, but I couldn’t find it to save my life.

Just would like to note I’ve been doing the cr.HP loop all night as fast as I can while keeping Raven crouched and it has hit 100% of the time. Thanks again kataridragon.

That Raven combo is really bad in terms of meter and damage efficiency and it’s not even that swagful.

I dislike you. How bout you post a better video showing how its done!?!? Also that demon set up is nasty!

j.hp cl.hp xx wind cross, [cr.hp xx wind cross cancel] x3, super. There I improved the combo. I think you can use cross art instead of super for more damage, not sure.

I just realized the wall bounce might be situationally useful for cr.mp CH anti-air combos.

May I ask why?

I don’t have recording equipment so i generally just post notations. The combo Kikuchimonji posted is my raven bnb modified with a super on the end and it’s his best combo to super.

cross art with a good secondary is really nice with raven because his combos aren’t that long and you can tack on some good damage. I think that combo with hugo on the end does a bit over 700
