Can’t do anything in the schools anymore because the schools are scared as fuck at getting in trouble by parents who think their kids has no idea what porn is, and just afraid of getting sued by someone because a kid called another kid black. The sex ed stuff is something else. A librarian in my city had a parent complain because she had sex for dummies for students to check out. This at a high school of all places.
Some of this stuff has to do with issues we’ve had since columbine. The other is dealing with excessive harassment. Some kids are being driven to suicide, some to utter mysery. Unfortunately these two situations get mixed up with small things that may not lead to either of the other. Mix up all the wacky cultural differences in this country and bam!

My cousin got suspended from Stuy because she wrote a paper that mentioned someone’s birthday. Apparently there’s some list of words you’re not allowed to use and birthday is one of them because it makes some kids feel suicidal. She told me that also someone else got suspended for talking about dinosaurs, apparently it pissed off religious freaks who can’t allow anything that might suggest evolution.
Man, I remember when Stuy was actually a good school.
Just think about how mentally unstable someone has to be in order to actually want to kill themselves and perhaps even act on it just because someone would say a single word, like birthday in this case.
Then again, with this no child left behind thing they’re putting kids with mental disabilities… actual fuck it I will say it straight up, they’re putting retards in the same classes as normal kids and what’s happening is the normal kids are getting an education that’s worse than if they were in other countries and the retarded kids are also not receiving the special education that they require and the obvious result is that the intelligence of the US declines even further.
