Negro Justice: You knew I was going to call it, but you said the same thing about KOF XII =P I don’t think interest in that game lasted more than 2 minutes…
LOL Josh… that was the most epic finish to a session…
Me: "last game."
Josh: “okay.”
DOUBLE K.O. “DRAW GAME” … welp… turns off xbox
that session was full of epic moments
and you learned that cody is a real asshole to fight
Excellent. Mind I can hit you up on Live/PSN whenever possible? At least get to know you a bit.
Go for it.
Cool. I’ll throw out mine first anyways.
XBL= Godhand Rubedo
PSN= Burning Rubedo
People actually play KoF here. May give it a go. Also, Chris. I know what you mean. But, there’s a lot more to playing against MBR than what you see there. Dude has a ton of option selects and a lot of game knowledge. I’ll be glad to get some time against him in future sessions. It’ll be good.
How much of being good at Tekken requires you to escape throws as reliably as Cody Dinkins?
I would say it’s at least as important as being able to consistently tech throws in SF, if not more.
Throws in Tekken have some unique aspects though, you can escape almost ALL throws, including command throws. But you have to know the exact break command. Further, command throws usually do not have a unique whiff or startup animation and their recovery is pretty much the same as a regular throw.The trick is learning to see f the opponent leads with the left arm, right arm, or if both come out together to know the break.
So SF = regular throws can be teched, command throws cannot be teched, plus have a unique animation
Tekken = regular and command throws can be teched, but command throws do not have an obviously unique animation nor do they have differing recovery.
I could be wrong, but that’s how i understand it at the novice level.
Its important but no more so than learning proper spacing for poking and proper punishment IMO. In some cases your going to be forced to guess the throw break anyway. King and Ganny for example have throw chains and it the first one lands your guessing as to breaking the next one. There are also certain throw set ups for that make it even harder to tell what the break would be to the grab (IE Lei’s back turned grab set ups). Even if you dont get as good at breaking grabs as him you can learn the common set ups and most used grabs which will help you decide which break to try even if you cant see what the break should be on reaction (IE if Baek is in flamingo and you get grabbed you need to 1+2 break, so you just look for him to be in that stance and if you see a grab always break with 1+2)
This… article, caught my eye today. Muggles need not click.
LOL… It requires years of practice I think. I have never seen anyone break throws like Cody Dinkins except for a couple Koreans.
Xbox: iQuickzzz
Currently on ban status due to my account being compromised though. Still waiting for the investigation to finalize. I play mvc3 and ssfiv. Mostly marvel though.
We’re much more of an in your face type of community. We usually play at each other’s houses and at play-n-trade on Wednesday nights. With that being said, please come visit us at play-n-trade tomorrow.
Oh yeah mine is ANDERUJOHNSUTON (Xbox Live).
Im still used to the old vbulletin forum having the gamertag under the avatars lol. derp
GGs chris and jason. I was wondering about the lag… was it me? Or did you guys get hit by it when playing each other?
Regardless, I wanted to play more but had to go dine. Thanks for the invite though.

Can’t wait until that meme dies
Lol yeah, but that’s why I prefaced it. It may be fun to play casually, but I dunno if I’ll be logging mad hours unless I really like it.
Shawn - that’s what’s up man. You should record. I can’t wait to see how you do once you are back at top form.
