I’m in the Norfolk area (SoVa). I’m probably an hour and a half from Richmond. Speaking of which, how is things there? Getting settled? I would love to get some games in but it would be when I start to head back to Memphis though.
Oh yeah I know the area your talking about. There is a sick venue there for rock shows near ODU called the Norva and my dad used to own a restaurant in Norfolk a long time ago. Definitely hit me up when your heading back and we can try and set something up.
As for things here going really well actually. House got painted, a few of the rooms are done/unpacked with others still needing attention. Wife got a new job after being here only 3 days, working for Wells Fargo. I bought a new car (VW GTI) which I have wanted to own since I was 14 and the renters for the house in MS are really happy to so I cant complain.
Only real downside is I havent had the time to go out and find where the FGs are in the city. From what I understand there is a SF/marvel group downtown near VCU but I am nowhere near there. Hopefully once the new year starts I can find some people and get back to it. In the interim I have been playing puzzle fighter with my brother in law lol.

Lmao this match was last week sometime. I was over Rell’s house between jobs and played some rank mode for shits n giggles. I ran into Art like 3 times over 2 days. He was prob just frustrated. We talked on FB, he’s a cool guy and just trying to learn Tekken. But just as he used to do with Sim in SF4, he also needs to sit on the life lead in TTT2. Especially with Jacks. They have dumb range to punish anything. Once he gets comfortable with them, and the game, he’ll be fine.
Btw if you didn’t know, rank mode is SERIOUS BUSINESS actually. Holy shit it’s crucial out here. And apparently, dangerously infectious. It snagged me for a good 2 or 3 days too until I said, “Yo hold up. This shit is stupid.” Everyone is putting more emphasis and weight on online ranking than tournaments now lol.
Also, good to hear that Sev and T are settling in fine. I miss you guys but at the same time, glad you got away if it’s for the better. Tbh, I never really liked when I stayed in that area so I know a change of scenery, a familiar one at that, is refreshing.
