Lol, no Cylus, thing is, I didn’t know it was possible to get ultra again RIGHT AFTER you get ultra. So I wasn’t trying to read or even have a brain anymore. For all I knew, he was fucked. I didn’t ex buttslam because I considered possibility of Jan doing some sneaky shit like d/f+hp and sliding under. So close ex headbutt would end everything, even on block. When he did ultra, I questioned my sanity, whether he maybe did super the first time, or stored 2 ultras some kind of way, or if he went to special options and changed settings, etc. I did not know the game worked like this. As everyone there can tell you, I was still wrapping my mind around what happened well into KOF2002UM matches. Feelings of utter disbelief + profound sadness = SALT. Lol, oh well…
Hahaha! I was actually working on NOT doing that the other night. It was a habit that formed while playing Street Fighter 2 on the Super NES.
I had JUST enough life after eating your full ultra to survive AND get my ultra meter available to use. I really didn’t know what was going to happen. I was smiling because I thought I was dead and was pretty much conceding. …until I got lucky as hell in the end. That was a hype ending, but your plug pull right before the headbutt and my ultra connected was even better timing, lol!
Understandable that it nerves get better over time, but I havta wonder, having never been to a real tournament, I’m gonna mess up so bad when I do. XD Eh, but I can’t worry about that. I wanna go to NEC in December, being that I have some pals up there. If only I could go to Summer Jam in August, too.
The first tourney I played in I got steamrolled, mostly because I sat down and completely forgot the matchups or really any of the stuff I wanted to do. Pretty much forgot all of that practicing. I’m still shaking tourney nerves off but regular practice helps. Simply playing someone else isn’t nearly as shocking and nerve-racking when you’re doing just that outside of a tourney atmosphere all the time.
Not to mention, uh, actually showing up to tournaments…my biggest problem for the past month or two :shake:
My first SFIV tournament, (besides the crappy gamestop one) was Final Round XIII…which I picked a hell of a tournament to make my first. If I only knew then what I know now :P.
I’m going to be online most of today if anyone wants to matchup with me, very rare occasion.
Lol! It really was the equivalent of playing Tek and you’re in Rage mode but I launch you for full combo, take you to wall, and fuck you there too. And instead of you dying as soon as I touch you like a good little Ragee, you survive whole combo, block my guaranteed oki, and punish me with a Raged unblockable. I know you don’t know Tek talk but I had to make this comparison so I can continue to scream bloody murder.
Again, well done. My retirement is complete. Glad it was by your hand. Holding pad. Charging. And hitting L1. YOU ARE WINS!
My opinion is that whichever we do we aim to try to get as many people out as possible. Let other people know that we are going to stream the event, and then stream it live. I’d like to work towards adding a new feature or two to the live stream in preparation for the SBO qualifier (if indeed we end up having internet connection for that event).
I’mma be out of the country from the 5th to the 20th so I’m voting for the 3rd, even though I may not be able to actually be there. Might have to run up there one weekend to pick some packages up so I’m not saying it’s not possible just yet.
I miss you guys. I’ve got the itch to start fighting again at least, after I’ve contemplated the idea of selling my fighting games and sticks away and just quitting.
But I won’t make the next tournament unless there’s a change in circumstances. I’m over the fact that I have no one left to play fighting games with until MixeD moves in to the city. I still need to practice to get my skills back up to “terrible”.
