All right now that that is out of the way. I will be hosting another gathering at my home Sat night starting at 5:00 and going till whenever. So far I there are several confirms and the last time I had one of these turn out was over 20. Fee is 5 bucks but waived if you bring a full set up console, TV and game. We will be running the following games
-Super SF IV casuals
-Singles Ran Bat (Format to be decided guaranteed)
-Team Ran bat (Format to be decided if time permits)
-Tekken 6 Casuals
-Singles ran bat if we get enough people (Everyone who plays tekken please come out I need practice for Evo)
-Game of Fly Mike’s choosing
-Mike you seeing this!!! If you show up you get to pick a game that will be available all night. You want to get on that project justice, Alpha 3, KOF, Garou whatever its up to you man. Hell I say we have a ran bat in this too and just shit talk all the way through it. If you want to break out Bloody Roar I heard some words exchanged with you and Bishop last night and while we are at it I challenge you to a T6 FT5 slaps mike’s face with a glove British style
Anyone interested in coming out hit me up so I can get you my addy and plan for drinks and such. Side note my dogs will be separated from the main area where all the goings on will be so no worries there.

FlyMike: Most of the MK vs DC game was in 2D, 3D movement was only really used for walking, up close it didn’t really matter for anything…this game is using the very same engine, there really isn’t THAT much difference in the base…
Severin: No one uses my screenname but me. I use that name at my house only. The PS3 would be used by other people but I don’t even think I have used that in quite sometime. (The arcade has a PS3 account that others use) I can say 99.9 % when it is Dream Theater it is me.
I think the only other confusion is when out of towners come in to the arcade, they end up playing against Richard instead of me and then give me GGs here in the thread when they never played me or have met, LOL

Also if none of you have gotten the B.o.B. album as well as the Drake album I would suggest getting both since they are legit as all hell.

yeah there’s nothing you could gain from SRK proper that you couldn’t get from asking somebody in our little thread here…if anything, most of the locals in here can tell you MORE than even the character-specific forums. People are still asking which control configuration they should use on their arcade stick to “maximize Juri’s potential” over in the juri subforum. Not to mention the guy that asked why using 3P/3K binds to fire EX attacks off was a bad idea…smh
I will say this some of the char forums seem to be better than others. I know the Able and Chun ones are on point in general. Both of them have cats who moderate with hate to get the bitches to leave.
For certain matchups and characters, I really prefer asking posters here on AIM, the char forums are definitely hit and miss.

OH GOD SRK IS BREAKING.
Picked up T6 on PSP…why have I not been playing this sooner, damn. Finally getting around to learning how to play Lee instead of just pounding buttons with robot chick.
I know. DC engine was bad, but wasn’t the absolute worst. Finetuning with polish, sped up, stop making every move the same amount of highly punishable, a competent QA team, etc. would’ve made it playable for longer, if I wanted to play a tame MK game in first place. I’m not wowed by 9’s gameplay or anything, moreso just relieved that it’s back to darker, cheesier, MK style. Themes are there. Full character personalities intact. And I hate gimmicks in games, but X-Ray isn’t as unbearable as I thought it would be. Can prob be seen a few times before it gets stale. Just hope Boon and Co. don’t revolve heart of gameplay around “I NEED to get XRay.” Don’t make it an ultra. Imo, it doesn’t need whatever gimmicks, new outlandish mechanics, so long as core gameplay is decent, people are able to utilize basics, spacing, normals, specials, throws in a playable manner and be rewarded with finisher or stage finisher. Boom. “Good” MK game.
Also, I’m not saying an MK game can’t be decent if it’s 3D. DA and Decept were kinda shitty, but had the feel and spirit of MK games. Arma and DC were trash. 4 was best “3D” MK for gameplay and just being a MK game. Hell, the versus mode in Shaolin Monks was better than DA/D/A/DC.
But I’m not ranting. The direction 9 is going is applaudable. The classic flair, dark theme, and personality of the characters, A “REAL” VS SCREEN lol, is enough to make me play and enjoy for nostalgic value alone.
Sidenote: The proration in DC was fucked up. I hope they fix that.
LOL, Deception was great. Deadly Alliance was ultra broken, DC was fine to a point, and honestly the engine in this is the same…a lot of stuff with MK vs DC was because of DC requirements and T rating, but Deception was a decent game as was Mk vs DC, it just hasn’t proved to be Tournament worthy on the hype yet, though Deception was played a LOT by people.

It was good to see everyone again and nice to put a face to Lycan and Squabbler. We are heading to Cleveland,OH next weekend so hopefully Josh will do as well there. See you all in July.
