Apparently 8WR is the same, they work on the profile cards, but not on the forum itself. I asked if it could be changed/etc but he said no, because all avatars are read as 200x200 and in the postbit, it resizes the avatar to 96x96. Therefore, animations do not survive the resizing process. :\ Also, apparently Jaxel IS helping with the transition and has been for months. Sorry to confuse/disappoint/be wrong. D:
Edit: I can say this, though, I know gifs (or at least small ones) work in sigs. I have a gif in my own signature over there, though it is small. And it works.

Actually, I’m the friend he’s talking about >_>. The game center I work at actually gets most of the better players from the area, including Seattle, to our tournaments. It isn’t really so much the SF crowd as much as it is… well, everything else. They have their tight little group and say they want to get a local scene/tournament crowd going but when it comes down to actually doing it they won’t. I hear the Portland scene is sort of the same way.
About the best I’ve been able to do so far is help garner some interest in newcomers and have been teaching a co-worker of mine and others who come in and want to play, be it SF, MvC, BB, whatever really.
