Wesker’s super counter stops Hulk while he’s bringing a giant meteor down. It stops everything.

I can tell you now the only thing his counter doesn’t beat from hulk is gamma wave, gamma tsunami, gamma quake (all projectiles), and gamma tornado (throw). so if you’re anticipating a gamma crush, easy counter
Hulk can also cancel all of his normals into the command throw. So if you try to st.H and Wesker tries to counter, you can cancel during the flash and punish. It’s pretty awesome.
Wesker’s Counter Hyper Combo is 5+0 (meaning it immediately is active after the hyper freeze), so no you actually couldn’t cancel during the flash, because that would require at least 1 frame for the cancel. Basically if you are attacking before the freeze, you are going to get countered.
Same reason you can’t block an x+0 move if you weren’t blocking before the freeze, or jump out of a x+0 throw if you weren’t jumping out before the freeze.
Really? I could’ve sworn I’ve done it before. I know it instantly counters if a move’s active frames are already occurring, but what if Hulk’s st.H was still in startup? Couldn’t he cancel before it actually becomes active? That’s what I was thinking of.

I’m pretty sure Yang’s super is just as good as Genei Jin in SSF4. I see Yang players in Jappo-land use it and have it work very often. Even if they don’t have ultra, just looping crouch strong>dash>crouch strong does more than a third of a health bar. Seems like if they activate it safely like after a palm there’s very little chance you’re going to block the high/low mix up while being paranoid also of dive kick and command throw the whole time. It does good damage and goes right into ultra, even off overhead.
So I just got confirmation that I can come to GG Friday. I might be early (1:00 or 2:00), so does anyone wanna come by around that time too to hang out with me? I know that’s kind of early, but that’s probably when my ride can drop me off.
I’ll be up there before then around 11.
