I had the MK demo and I liked using the PS3 pad better than the arcade stick. Dunno why but it felt better to me.

Hey guys, I’m from Nashville and trying to get back into the fighting game scene after a few years absence, mostly because of MvC3. There seem to be regular tournaments at Game Galaxy, but are there any weekly/bi-weekly meetings just to play? I only know one other person who plays fighting games seriously, and it would be nice to regularly play against other people. Any direction would be appreciated.

Eddie (mekkanic) was thinking about starting Fight Nights back up at his place in H-ville. Plus there’s the new MK fight nights Richard’s got going at GG (above). Stick out the dickriding and you’ll probably find a few good weekly events in MidTN through this thread man.

Sheeva did not have a command grab in MK3, it just looked like it and you could combo after it. Her “command” grabs in MK9 are just rushes, low grabs, etc. She is very gimmicky and is not going to be played so much with command grabs…Her hit box is huge so unless you use step kick (Towards + 4) and her crazy stomp a lot she’s a no go.

If you are just getting into MK9, best characters are going to be:

Kung Lao, Kitana, Kabal, Ermac, Raiden

Shang Tsung “would” have been up there but some of his shit was removed

Negro Justice: I think tourney stuff will just be one or the other, AE or SSF, I don’t think it’s going to change much.

For any of you that want to know, 2nd location of Game Galaxy opening up in Madison, TN (near Rivergate Mall) June 1 and Arcade Edition on linked HD cabinets WILL be there. Since there are no differences in gameplay and we are planning on going down to 25 cents a play on it, I would hope this encourages comp in the area to come and play…more details and “grand opening” tournament to follow.
