For anyone else that cares, I finally did play Honda against people right before I left and that ground Jab headbutt goes through Ryu’s Fierce and Medium Fireballs clean…I guess we know where the invincibility is now. I swore I was playing HDR for a second but I felt very very strong playing with him now because of the ground invincibility…
It says “Land an Uncanny Combo. (Arcade/Xbox LIVE only)” Uncanny as in Uncanny X-men? Plus the other combo achievements are directly related to confirmed characters: Viewtiful Joe (Average Joe achievement - Land a Viewtiful Combo) and Hulk (Bruisin Bruce - Land an Incredible combo)
Liking the changes to Big Tony but not sure if they’ll be enough. EX dive has some use, but a further recovery, even if safer… isn’t exactly worth expending meter for. It also got stuffed by a non-ex rainbow ball, and EX condor spire is already projectile invincible. Kinda disappointed… I need to test what new combos his normals do, but it’s looking like a less-than-mild improvement. Not enough to have him stand in his own light. At least he’ll destroy the twins!
Gouken is different but gonna need some practice. His combo potential could be huge. Less relying on (FADC) jump resets for damage. Counters will help greatly vs twin dives too.
Why the fuck did they switch the inputs for yang’s teleport / roll kick? That’s confusing as shit. Was is really that important that he have a DP-type move? Oversimplification.
Didn’t get to try Deejay. Ken’s air-tatsu trajectory can be just as lame as ryu’s old. Did they just switch them? It is disadvantageous for Guile to throw full-screen booms. Your opponent can just build their ultra meter while your super meter looks bored.
They really did the bare minimum to make this game desirable to arcade owners (vs console). Gonna try to crash the game again when I go back Sunday…
What do you guys think about me scrapping the $20 idea for all day after the 2 weeks are up (Jan 5 is last day for $10 tournament guys) and make it a $1 play on weekends and 75 cents weekdays?

woot: that only helps in his fireball matches which is where he had the most problems anyway…I can’t think of one character he could beat with a projectile…even Ken he had a little trouble against…

That fucked me up too. Even with my limited 3S knowledge, I knew I wasn’t crazy and misremembering the inputs from that game. It’s a very awkward transition. I like lk upkick for AA though.
It really doesn’t matter to me. I’ve committed to spending the money on this game regardless. I want it to do well.
What the hell, I’ll put my two cents in: I DO want my $10 for as long as I can get it. After that I think buck a game on weekends and 75 cents weekdays would be legit. By the end of the night most people wouldn’t have played $20 worth of games, but I understand that you want it to make money. I do too.
I can’t believe all these people complaining about paying a dollar per play on the front page. WTF. It would be a dream if I lived closer to an arcade and these fools are probably just satisfied with playing online. Uhg, todays gamers truly disappoint me.
Also, I played Josh from Knoxville also today. Kid’s execution and reactions were so fantastisickly-scrumdiddly-umptious. Not quite Sako status, but better than anyone in Memphis AND Nashville, hands down. He just needs a bit of work on his mind-games and spacing. Anyway, give it a year…he will learn to adapt to players rather than just rush them down… Lol, the player to watch for lives in Knoxville. Oh god, the irony.
I for one like the idea of a lump sum all you can play dealio. This is probably bc im not that great and would probably end up spending way over $20 in just a few hours. But to be honest, I fell in love with this arcade when I first came in weeks ago during my interview visit so I would gladly pitch in whatever I can to support the scene.
Not really sure if any of this counts as I’m not moving there until January 19th :-/
