As happy as I am that Jin Kazama will finally be in another fighting game besides Tekken, I just hate that it had to be SFxT in THIS era of fighting games. If only there was a KOFxT game then maybe the Tekken characters would’ve been done some visual justice by someone other than Namco. Im tired of seeing every Tekken character looking like Family Guy characters.
I think that Alpha Patroklos is just a customized version of the regular Patroklos. If not, then that’s a very lame concept. Either way, if Setsuka herself isn’t in the game then her fighting style will be in customization mode so I’ll just have to make Setsuka from scratch. Let’s just hope the gameplay is really solid with all these off the wall character decisions being made.
Sigh…I would love to play a fighting game sequel with a complete cast again. Screw all that story crap. I don’t care if the character(s) is relevant to the story or not, just put the characters in the damn game. People don’t play fighting games for the story anyway so why make them influence the returning roster so much?

I didn’t know these Alpha/Beta characters had slots. I just thought it was assigning movesets to existing characters. This shit is legit? Who thought that was a good idea? Oh well, no use in complaining. Some things in this world just make too much sense. This generation’s fgs, however, don’t.

@ Bishop: Exactly. Especially since the story sucked ass and went limp after SC1 anyway. Stuff veered off into weird directions and it still took itself too seriously and ended up being lame. But you’re super good. You got Raph, Aeon, Algol, and the Pat fool. That’s at the least. But I’m standing in the fucking rain in this shit. No logical reason why Samuel L. Jackson is immortal and not in this game. I hope they keep shit on lock and key and I play 50 matches and his black, round head ass pops up on select screen. Yea, I got more than a few characters under the radar but Im not so greedy that I only care about the characters I want to play. I hate Lex Luthor’s lil round head ass, but I’d be pretty pissed if he wasn’t represented in any kind of Superman re-boot. The same logic applies to fighting games. Project Soul’s decisions with SCV have really annoyed me when it comes to the characters. There is absolutely NO REASON why Zasalamel, Talim, Bangoo, Amy, or some kind of Yeung shouldn’t be in the game. Zasalamel is immortal for cryin out loud and the rest of those characters were young in previous titles.
Another thing is, I never understood the reasoning behind making a “new” character that has all the moves of an old fan favorite to replace that character. Sometimes it’s cool, but 9/10 the fans would rather have their favorite character return than a new imitation. It’s like the developer’s are too lazy to come up with a new fighting style for a new design so they just give the new character the old character’s moves but at the cost of taking away the old character completely.
Tekken has been the only fighting game to do the “new character with old moves” thing the right way because they actually keep the old character and give them new moves. They did this with Jin/Devil Jin and Asuka/Jun really well.
Don’t forget King/AK, Bruce/Bryan, Baek/Hwoarang, Nina/Anna all who had the former or latter replace the other in some capacity, and then that character brought back next game with a fresh diverse style.
It’s not hard Namco, you’ve done this for years. But new gen syndrome has kicked in.
Bangoo makes sense. Talim makes sense. Amy makes sense, unless she’s really Viola or they gave Raph his “powah!” back. No Yeung I guess because Monkey Boy is supposed to be some kind of Kilik/Yunsung hybrid. Zasalamel, yea, makes some of the most sense. Even if they gave his style to some ugly black kid from one of Bruce Irvin endings I’d be happy. Taki was boss, but hell, Natsu gets the done. (Even though I’m gonna miss Taki flying through the air with her tits behind her) But please, please, please, don’t give a scythe to the pedo-bait Pyrrha girl and say it’s story related. God please.

Wanna get my Robert up to par to cover a few characters. Need to holla at DiMo for that VEST TECH. Also I was on EX Kyo’s nuts, but now I kinda wanna fuck with Fireball Kyo, lol. Started watching KoF grand finals from our last tournament (didn’t get to watch as I was helping run and all’at) and watching Shin play that mayne was inspirational. Plus I want an excuse to yell “SMOKE WEED” like the west coast cats in Tekken while Kyo is throwing flames all over the screen.
