Tennessee Thread-"Theres Something About Seagulls and Electrolytes....."

The 90’s gave us Face/Off.

The 90’s when people sucked and wanted to be XTREME

90’s - Decade of creepy claymation.

Seriously, TV in the 90s ruled… but only because I was a kid.

… and Broken Arrow.

I got up this morning to go to class and didn’t realize until I got there that it’s MLK day. Time for video games.

And Cool as Ice.

Yeah, I need to get used to PS3 pad. That kind of messed me up last year.

Yeah man should work. Just trying to see if anyone else will roll. Mainly trying to get a hold of Pat.

cool. Yeah I’m wondering if we should start like a Google calendar for GG events…

Yeah I gotta work. This some ole bullshit. Damn honkies…

Same here, stuck at work. Oh well.

So I recently made the switch from square gate to octo gate and now I’ve got a bat top on the way to really show my American execution incompetence. Next I’m gonna change the stick art to where it reads: Amurrikuh!!! Fuck Yeah!!!

Anyone from Memphis aside from Marcus planning to go to ARK Bar Battles? If I bring a crew from Nash (4 people), would anyone have availability for us to crash this coming Friday night?

Jas check yo pm’s

NegroJ- I know Kinect wants to roll. And if comes down to it you can crash here

I got you. I’ll send you a pm later with the info you requested.

I’m pissed and wanna play vidja gaems. Who’s hosting on this random Monday?

Im with ya Abe. Discussion is where it’s at. 1st off, Claw Iori DOES NOT do more damage than Flame Iori. The most damage Claw Iori can get without meter is about 287. Flame Iori gets a solid 300 and it’s a considerably easier combo. IMO, Flame Iori is slightly better than Claw Iori because he has a better command grab, a real dp, more damage for less effort, and a projectile. Despite their differences though, they both are very solid characters and deserve to be right next to each other on my tier list.

On Benimaru, I feel like he’s a very solid character but him being placed higher than everyone else is pretty silly. Without meter, Benimaru has to go on the full offensive which I feel he can do but not as well as other characters. His pressure game is weak because his short hop is pretty easy to react to due to its height, his only command normal on the ground is slow and can’t be combo’d into, and he can only open you up with grabs. The only thing I feel like he excels in is in his footsie game. Benimaru’s standing B and D both have great range and priority. His NEOMAX is full screen and can be used to whiff punish

So what is Claw Iori’s advantage? is it in his moderately safe approach? I believe EX Iori’s rekka is no longer safe on block even if its not completed. So I’m thinking is it the fact that Claw Iori can space his specials to give himself a safe way to approach from the ground without hopping?

Having said that, I do like Claw’s design, I always wondered ever since Iori killed Vice and Mature with the claw slashes, that it would be interesting to see him use the slashes as a primary attack. Now we have the best of both worlds in EX and Claw.

Also, could it be that the initial tier chart takes into account the strength of the character based on their optimum placement on a team. For example Benimaru could be stated to be placed on 2nd or anchor, though that argument is defeated by the fact that Kyo is effective on pretty much any slot. Hmmm…

Flame Iori’s Rekkas are, unfortunately, not safe. Any attack that covers good distance and is quick can punish on block. Iori’s sweep leaps to mind. Most Ex projectiles, but that’s a bar. Stuff like that.

Hiryu about Claw Iori lol shut up… lol =) and Mike said it’s gonna be a big bowl of chicken with side plus drink from Popeye’s we gonna feast on!
