Jacob, if you have that much trouble with the Gouken/Sagat match, why not pick up Ryu? It shouldn’t be that tough of a transition. He obviously plays quite differently than Gouken, but the basic principles of the character are the same. I’d say you could probably bet pretty good with Ryu by the time Finaly Round is here.

KrayzeeJL - Ya I’m messing around with him a bit. He’s really fun but my time is still with Gief mainly. Ya that last match you’re getting it a bit more. I was actually going to get on here and post that the crossup kick really seems like a bad idea with how slow it is and how much lariat can just eat it’s breakfast. The only thing I’d say is WAIT for lariat to finish before you attack and don’t teleport toward me, not sure if that’s on purpose or if it just happens cause I know the input for teleport is iffy for Arson too.
If you do a weekend session I can usually make it after 6:30 PM, unless it’s on Sunday, then I’m free all day. Let us know for sure. I’m down for training.
Sagat doesn’t give me problems. Up close pressure, not having any safe block strings, and no useable combos outside of fierce. That gives me problems. I’m not complaining. I just know my characters liabilities. I get away with it cause not everyone knows the matchup especially in big tourny play. No chun I don’t do charge characters. Sorry.
I try to stay away from Gief. He has waaaaay too many options up close. Just fireball him, make him jump, and meet him in the air with neutral jump roundhouse, jumping fierce X 2 or air throw. If he has EX green hand he will try to get within range to use it to eat your fireballs, so wait for it and punish it on block if he tries to be psychic or whiffs it. If he can’t get in he loses. Standing fierce and standing roundhouse is golden.
Jason still finds a way to get in with Gief by jumping at me. I can’t find a viable anti air to stuff his jumping fierce punch yet while on the ground, I always lose on trade and the shit is annoying. If he lariats from far away to go through fireballs, throw out standing roundhouse…beats it clean from a distance.
