Of course he won’t. District Managers are d-- remembers there’s a 14-yr old and his mom in here now not nice people. Yeah. >.>
LMAO!!! Don’t worry I am sure it is nothing I have not heard before. (I don’t offend that easily)
I saw it this morning and read all the uproar about it, here on SRK… Honestly, those guys just do what every other scene does IMO. I mean, we don’t stream but we had a good time this weekend at Hiryu’s and it was pratically the same. I don’t understand how some people think that is wrong in anyway! SOme people were eager to say that, this Keystone thing is very unprofessional and there is too much cursing and everything. Don’t watch it then! It looks to me like those guys are just having a good time!
Doot doot doot… haven’t lost a match on super yet… Zzzz… hope I get to the next “class” level soon…
Oh right, except to Shady K, lol.
This group in opposition is what are know as the elusive Haters. A small sub species they are but in mass can cause much turmoil and psychological unrest. Be on the look out for Haters, they may pop up anywhere.
The complaint that folks had was that they want the Fighting Game Genre to be recognized as something serious like the NFL or NBA but it makes the fighting game community look “unprofessional” when some of the stuff in that particular stream goes on when and if view by someone that may want to invest in making fighting games somethin big. This is was what I had to say about it :
"I think it’s super cool when a bunch of guys can get together, kick it, a play some games. Hell, I do it all the time but when you’re doing something like a stream that’s being braodcasted to the general public, there has to be some form of professionalism. That is of course if you’re trying to be takin seriously. Just think of the kind of hell the NFL, NBA, or even UFC would catch if they let some guy get on the mic who was yellin and cursin like a maniac. It’s simply just a turn off. Commentators like those 2 guys in the video above are the EXACT reason why I don’t bother with most streams. Although they may be real cool in person, from a viewer standpoint it’s just too over the top for me. I just want to know about what’s going on in the match. Nothing more.
I strongly believe that we as a community should be a little more professional if we hope to ever be taken as seriously as Basketball, Football, or Baseball. It’s already hard enough being a competitive gamer in a society that thinks that playing games seriously is something only children and immature people partake in. I’d love to tell someone I’m meeting for the 1st time that I’m a competitive gamer and they think it’s something cool and to be admired instead of getting laughed at with questions like “Seriously?! How old are you?” Now how do you think that person is gonna look a you and the fighting game community when you tell them “Just cause Im a gamer doesn’t make me any less of an adult. There are plenty of guys like me that play competitively.” then when you show them a stream there’s some lunatic talkin like a street thug and cursin like a sailor doing the commentary? Wake up guys… "
I ain’t hatin. Im just lookin at this thing from a “If you want to be taken seriously” standpoint. Otherwise that shit is HELLA cool. Almost identical to every Memphis gathering.
Ok, i look in my character stats and apparently one of my wins was a “cheap” win… what the hell does that mean?
Chip damage maybe?
Hiryu: I left my phone at home. Has there been any word on whether Power Play will let us purchase the game early?
No word yet, sorry Pjan. If you can open up an AIM window with me, I’ll let you know when I do.
For the record, I very much approve of Boobquake. I’m pretty sure you all saw that coming.
I feel you on that. At first I was like what is he talking about, then I went and watched the behind the scenes stuff. It was kind of ridiculous. They could have re-shot a lot of the cursing in the segments where they were just talking about the community. The commentators should also not be able to curse and yell incoherently, the end really made them look like a bunch of drunk dudes screaming.
Most of what I’ve seen of fighting game enthusiasts leads me to believe that literacy is not a requirement.
Present company excluded… mostly.
He’s talking about me. Are you talking about me? I think you’re talking about me.
I’m eloquent and shit.
it dont matter if your ilitarate, i jus care if u aint a total dooshbag, thats all that matters 2 me
The anticipation is killing me guys. No matter how much Ridge Racer 7 I play my mind can’t stop thinking about Super.
So Memphis players, what’s the plan for tomorrow? I’m thinking about chilling at Powerplay for most of the day.
i’ll probably be up there around 3.
I spin the sticks around until Zangief kills the mans.
This is my pro strategy and expert opinion on the matter.
Angles and numbers are bad for Mother Russia.
I’ll be there most of the day Wednesday. Sadly I can’t do both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Also, I’ve decided that Rose’s U2 is wonderful. I mean, what could be more awesome than beating someone to death with your balls? Well, aside from firing someone out of your ass with Hakan.
