Actually pjan, this is not accurate. He has not brought a setup for quite some time. (“Nothing that costs over $200 can leave the house”) He usually brings some controllers, and his psp. Whether or not he brings a setup is irrelevant to the case at hand. The complaint people have is that he spams them and this thread, as well as the overall low quality/lack of content of his site. And he seems oblivious as to why people don’t like to be spammed.
Shawn even took some time to kindly offer some suggestions to him, which he pointedly ignored. As has been said, nobody hates the guy, but he doesn not take criticism well. And apparently if you criticize, you are asses.

I can understand the problem with the spamming and website. I think this is a time to agree to disagree though. There are better things to discuss anyway…

i was setting up the link for info a to show group photo but my efforts are for vain for some of you. my site i like and i will stick by it. the fight nite is in question. i took a pole on live and out of 89 who responed told me to keep my site and just drop fight nite site for wasting effort on the ones that are asses
Because you guys don’t go about it the right way. You Some of you will say “hey friend#1 check your PMs” in a heartbeat. But when it comes to “putting people on blast” or “correcting” people, you like to do it in public right here on the forums instead of sending a kind PM.
There have been a total of 3 people on this forum that have tried to be helpful to me and reach out in a positive manner and do so in private and give me good, sound, quality advice before things got sour with everyone on this board. Hiryu you as a community figure head should know this. Sure your community is growing, but if you don’t learn how to pull people to the side and tell them what you don’t like in private, you will not keep a community. Remember the guy at EVO you guys said had “heard” about the street fighter community in Memphis? Yea…
Sunstone, as much as Shawn came off like a douche, he was trying to help. I am an English major with a concentration in Professional writing. If you need help with your writing or organization of material on your website, I will be more than happy to help you. I am currently helping a prominent person in the community as we speak on his writing and organization so I don’t mind giving you some help if you want. Check your PMs for details.
Lastly, I can moreso understand why I get grief on this forum, however, I completely do not understand why people saw it necessary to attack Sunstone so harshly. Sure, the constant website links may get a little annoying, but he has laid off a lot since getting here. And to be honest, he does more work for the local scene here than some of the “high rollers” here. I don’t see anybody else trying to document our scene visually or in any other way for that matter like Sunstone. But I can’t say I didn’t see this coming as I said that once I stopped posting so much, you guys would find someone else to meal on. I guess its the circle of life here.
So again, if you don’t like something someone is doing, tell them in a PM or over AIM or better yet tell them in person on Wednesdays. People will take much more kindly to that method than…

Sunstone: For what its worth. No one has any real problem with you. You always come out to support fight night and are chill. The spamming of your site is kind of annoying but its not the hugest deal. However, if I remember correctly Shawn does web work for a living and I know Squab does. If they criticize your site take it constructively. There tips are only going to help make it better. If you like it and dont want to change it whatever but you can always improve.

However. The points of criticism everyone has made are still valid. If you want to label everyone here as “asses” or not “true players” for pointing those out, whatever, that’s your prerogative.

Strategically you should try to approach your site in a unique way. Like maybe just create a blog that has a ‘stream’ of images / videos relevant to your interest. People could subscribe to your RSS feed and stay aware. Currently, your posting blog style articles that contain only photos taken from other sites. There’s no real text so the fundamental structure of the blog is at odds with your content. It’s possible to aggregate data from other sources in a unique and effective way that adds value.

I think i heard about it actually. A guy that works at electronic express was talking to someone in the bank when I was there and i overheard him mention a gas leak. I was riding around the loop to the mall and saw a ton of people standing outside and fire trucks as well as various other emergency vehicles.
