And I totally forgot that I have family in town so obviously I won’t be making it after all. Did my friends ever get up there? They were two guys named James and Mike.
GG’s to everyone in the tourney and the rankings… That was my first tourney and it was fun…
So is ranking STILL going on? I need to see who I need to face against next week.

Congrats to Josh for winning the singles tourney and Max for winning the overall RANBAT.
Official challenges can be made in the official rankings thread. First official match (if Vandy is serious) is no 10 Richard vs Vandy. After that match is done (first to 5) all challenges can be made and games MUST be played (at least this week) at Game Galaxy. They can be played anytime but the main matches for RANBAT battles will be from 6pm-9pm on Thursdays…if someone can NOT make the Ranbat Battle after a challenge, they WILL lose their spot (you have to be there each week if you are challenged officially)

Matches/Challenges must be announced in this thread or at least somehow told to me. If not, all matches will take place at Game Galaxy during the week or Thursdays 6pm-9pm at Game Galaxy. If a higher ranked player is challenged and does not show, they will lose their rank and go down 1 spot.
Rules for #10 rank. First challenge match for #10 takes place. The winner of the match IMMEDIATELY has rights to challenge #9 BEFORE another challenged #10 match takes place.
First official match:
#10 Richard vs Vandy BY Thursday
To anyone that wants to play for the #10 spot if you show up to the arcade Thursdays 6-9pm you WILL have a chance to play for that spot. Basically the #10 spot is going to be passed around a lot that night (if the person does not show they forfeit the spot) so there will be a lot of playing going on.
It IS possible to go up from #6 to #1 in ONE day. We’re making this a pretty heavy playing tournament if people show up to PROTECT their ranks and HAVE to accept all challenges within that week but must ACCEPT all challenges at the Ranbat.
For example: #3 Shawn challenges #2 Josh. They don’t play that week, #3 Shawn comes to arcade, #2 Josh does not, Shawn becomes #2 and Josh becomes #3. Josh is LOCKED at #3 spot that week and no one can challenge for #3 unless #4 Eugene CHALLENGED #3 Shawn BEFOREHAND in the official thread.
I am stressing the importance of official challenges and what can change. Each week a person does not show for challenges their ranks DROP TWICE as much as the previous week.
For example: If #1 Max does not play next week to a challenge from #2 Josh, he drops to #2 next week. If he does not play the subsequent week as well, he drops to #4. Week after, #8, etc.
All I can say is make challenges on the thread quickly, I will update them with matches/battles, you guys tell me when they are taking place at Game Galaxy or I will assume they take place on Thursdays from 6pm-9pm.
SHOW UP EACH THURSDAY 6pm-9PM at Game Galaxy is all I can suggest!

While you guys had fun and fought in streets and all that I was throwing mattresses and couches over third floor balconies. Couldn’t make it to defend 33rd place and provide Madden-tier commentary. :’(
Not that throwing couches off the side of a building is any more or less fun than the vidyas. Watching a couch lose to gravity and buckle under its own weight is way too satisfying.

Temp labor for the apartment complex I live in. Most places advertised as college apartments have a two week period before school starts where they’ll hire pretty much anyone willing to do physical labor so they can clean every apartment out between when old tenants move out and when new tenants move in. I’ve done it for two years and it’s basically 5 minutes of carrying heavy stuff, 15 minutes of standing around doing nothing, rinse, repeat until quitting time. I’m pretty handy so I’ve been upgraded from “couch-carrying general labor” to “that guy that likes replacing toilet flush valves,” meaning I get to sit inside and wrestle with plumbing instead of carrying heavy shit in near-100° weather all day. When I do have to haul furniture I make sure it’s the trash furniture I can throw around and wreck because that’s the BEST PART.
