Tennessee: "All F**ks Left Behind"

See thats what I thought. I mean I get the in joke but fuck I am almost thirty so I had the OG MM game in its original box when I was like 7 or so. Even then I remember thinking this box art sucked why would he look like this and I was a child.

As for hype about the game agreed its basically dead for me as well. I mean all these extra chars on PS3 are just jokes. Momo, kuro, pacman riding Mokujin, fat MM and whats funny is the Xbox people bitching they are not getting any extra chars…yeah well your not missing much anyway. I mean I am sure people would have wet their pants over Master Chief or Fenix but the game is SFxTek not SFxTekxRandom Char somebody owns. They claim that the special chars are not taking up any extra space for the “real roster” but you had to take time to make them. How about dropping them and adding in a more eclectic cast that people might want to see from the two franchises headlining the damn game (Baek, Lee, Bruce, Jack, Lars, Karin, Maki, Gen, Guy, Cody, etc). And why the fuck does most of the cast look like some bad cartoon with googly eyes and stupid facial expressions? It was fine in SF4 I guess cause it wasnt as over the top as the mess seen here. Did we really need Kuma’s super to be a fart, does Paul really need to be the new Dan. Yes Paul had commical endings and shit in the Tek games with his pal Law but this is just pushing it.

This might finally be the Capcom FG that I rent first to see if its worth it. I hope TEKxSF does not go that route. Keep the visuals of T6 or improve upon them, change the gameplay mechanics some to allow SF style special moves to not be terrible, include a diverse cast, through in some fan service backgrounds and good music and call it a day. This shit should not be that hard. I mean its fucking SF and Tek together in one game. Pretty much everyone who has ever played either game thought about this crossover at some point how can you fuck this up?

Hahahahahaha. Raven would get it tho. Over…and over…and over again…

Yes. Sev you nailed it. Capcom is wasting development resources/money just to troll. I don’t know how much longer I can defend them…

They keep marketing it as this big epic crossover but then you see gameplay and just like…yeahhh

Also while I am ranting WHY the FUCK are Gen/Lei not in the game as rivals? Both have the animal stances and would allow the developers to try implementing some thought out mechanics for how to handle stance changes (especially for Lei in 2D). I hope Gen makes it into TEKxSF and Mantis stance is lowered to auto dodge highs while Crane avoids lows or something. Do you know how cool/sick/interesting that could be?

That does sound awesome. Sadly, I don’t think Gen or Lei are going to be in SFxT. Honestly, SFxT has WAY to many SF4 characters on the game. There aren’t enough Alpha or 3rd Generation SF characters on the game.

Well Cody/Guy were “revealed” in the poison trailer like a year ago so I assumed they were in it but then they dont show up anywhere else so who knows. I will say that trailer had me hype, then I saw the in game stuff. I didnt even think about the alpha or 3s chars being missing. I guess Hugo is the only 3s char to show up. They have such a deep roster to pull from and I get it you need your mainstays but damn.

yes,
I also like the ideas being tossed around with having a tournament season and both cities interchanging dates and the like. I will brain storm it a bit and give my opinion and thoughts to see if you guys like!

Also,
does anyone want to go shoot shit tomorrow?

My biggest issue with recent business/design decisons by Capcom is this:

I want fighting games, especially 2D, to be successful. I mean shit I bought BlazBlue CT and played that shit like…twice. my copy of UMvC3 is STILL in the plastic (I’m very serious about starting a pool and getting bets going). What I’m getting at is I buy fighting games so support the community and developers so that it’s not another decade before we see a proper SF sequel. I have my copy of SFxTek pre-ordered, but then I see all this shit and it makes me regret it.

I was having a convo with J Ford last night. He made a statement that many have already made, and I have defended Capcom, but I just can’t do it anymore: Capcom has no idea how to balance their fighting games. At least not the SFIV teams. They did it with Vanilla, which was the most balanced SF to date, even with Sagat. Then Super, IN MY OPINION, was the pinnacle in terms of gameplay and balance. Since then they have just been circle jerking and making arbitraty changes that make absolutely no sense. They have ARCHIVES of data from the SFII iterations and the whole SF catalog, they have testers, s kill, and a multitude of tourney results. USE IT.

Also, I love s kill, he’s great, but get Ono the fuck away from Street Fighter ASAP.

Right now I’m glad KOF is good so we all have an alternate in case Capcom games just die after the community realizes SFxTekk is a giant official troll.

lol I think its amazing and will be buying that dumb game day one.

@Hiryu: Don’t get too hype it might be the last KOF if it didn’t sell really well. Though it is nice to have a 2d alternative to SF I agree and KOF is really good

@Negro: Yeah I do the same thing I buy most all of the 2d FGs just to support. Living through another drought of FGs is a scary thought. And the unable to defend capcom convo has happened I am sure for other people too. Super was really well done, AE was a mess and 2012 seems to be better than AE but I dont know if its as good balance wise as Super. Verdict is still out I guess. And fuck yes get Ono away from SF god damn. He seems like the George Lucas of FG producers, SF4 and super people kept his ass in line and they were good (OG trilogy), then those made money and he went and did AE/2012 (Prequels), now he is doing SFxTek (3d re-release of the prequels)

@Storyteller: Your right and I will probably break down and snag it day one as well to “support” cause I am weak.

So… anybody hosting tonight???

Sev, you and I have had our conversations regarding SFxTekk several times now, and you know I have several issues with the overall game.

Honestly? I will still buy it, if ONLY because I want to support FG’s in general, and I’m going to TRY it as best I can. I mean King + Abel is or Marduk + Abel is going to be fun, hopefully. Then again, I also bought BlazBlue, so there. Don’t be too sure Cody and Guy are out, if you think about that trailer they were in, they were “late” to the party, meaning Hugo/Poison/King/Marduk all were announced “on time”.

I wouldn’t put it past Ono to have Cody/Guy as the very LAST releases, because hey they are “late to the party” even in their trailer.

On KOF, I hope and pray it becomes a stable part of the FG landscape. It deserves to be. I just hope they fix the damn netcode before it’s too late. But even so, I think it’s strong enough in several scenes (including TN) to be a mainstay at most tourneys. It may never surpass SF or Marvel or whatever, but I think many agree that it’s prolly one of the best games of this FG generation.

lol old school internets

Also, thats the best trolling, OG mega man looks awesome. He looks like someone called him up and offered him his first job since modelling for that box art.

There was a leaked list a while back that is pretty much confirmed since it had fat mm and pacman on momukin on it. Only other characters I remember off the top of my had that aren’t announced are guy, Elena

Also, I demand everyone watch this at least once.

That is basically the best analogy for the SF4 series I’ve ever heard.

And yes. KoF is great. It is better than AE without question. Won’t go as far as saying it’s better than Super. Don’t even want to try and compare those games, but KoF > AE. That game is too fresh, balanced, and fucking awesome.

Chris, I don’t think the balance issues with Street Fighter are as bad as you make them out to be. Despite having so many characters and different systems in the game, the tiers are still pretty close together. The only problem was AE and that was because they PURPOSELY unbalanced the game. Which was idiotic.

I mean look at SFIII:2I and 3S, you see characters like Sean go from top to way bottom, and you don’t really see anything like that in any of the IV iterations. They did do some weird stuff along the line but with 2012 I think most of it was in the interest of trying to add some freshness.

@ Negro: Can I get dat like post then it helps my e-rep

@Neoblood: With the SF4 games I agree you dont see stuff like what happened to Sean from 2I to 3s but then again 2i was such a mess. Instead what you see is a group of chars that are consistently weak. Gen, Hakan, THawk, Juri (though I hear she is “better now”) Guy have been weaker since they showed up. And what do they do to change that not much of anything. Hell Gen was actually good/scary in vanilla and got nerfed to shit and they have spent every game since then tweaking him into still being meh. Outside of the AE Yun fiasco you also see the same people in high tier Ryu/Sag/Viper/Ak/Fei/Bison etc. So its almost they are doing the reverse now in making changes that dont amount to much rather than big changes that drastically alter the tiers.

I mean I have said this before but I like the SF4 series but the fact that it was good doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be looked at objectively for improvement. I almost wish since they knew they were fucking around in AE they made more drastic changes then and then adjusted back for 2012. That would have been a different approach to the wild changes only in the three series and the small changes only in the 4 series. But thats just me.

Haha I’m on tapatalk no but I gotchu when I get to the crizzo.

Yeah Neo lemme clarify. I actually agree with you and that’s more what I was trying to say. SF4 series was excellent in regards to balance up until AE for the exact reason you mentioned…they purposefully fucked it up. Then, as Sev said, they made changes to characters that didn’t need them, then arbitrary changes anywhere that basically didn’t amount to anything for overall balance.

And I will never get over the whole, “we made Yun stupid to encourage a competitive spirit” bullshit. Yoshinori Ono is George Lucas, and Fat Mega Man is Jar Jar Binks.

I keep seeing these new videos SF X Tekken. Vega and Poison had me hype for the game. Then this new shit keeps coming out and I keep thinking I should cancel my pre-order and use it for Soul Calibur V…
