Television General Discussion

oh forgot Kitchen Nightmares is back

Yeah…last Friday’s one was pretty good.
I was expecting the kitchen to go ATL on Ramsay.

haha, it’s easy to predict when a show is that bad… I knew Work It wasn’t going to even make it to the 5-episode point.

Here’s a link from E! http://www.eonline.com/news/watch_with_kristin/abc_pulls_plug_on_work_it_after_two/286542 I’m still surprised there was apparently someone at the network who thought the idea was good enough to be green-lighted in the first place.

My regular stuff at the moment: Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, Secret Circle, X-men and Young Justice (*whenever the hell it comes back, if CN didn’t flat out forget about the shit)…and occasional old episodes of 30 Rock that air in that later ā€œsyndicated showā€ time-slot… I wasn’t watching the show when it was new but they definitely picked up a fan. It’s funny and has the hotness of Tina Fey, SALMA, 2nd-tier hotness Jane Krakowski, and various other sexpots showing up on occasion… that’s more than good enough for me.

they did not say ā€œshawtyā€ once. i REAALLY wanted smoked bbq after that episode though.

what x-men show is on tv right now? is it animated? and young justice hasnt had a new episode for a while now ;/

There’s an ā€œanimeā€ X-men that comes on G4. Oh and that reminds me that their new ā€œanimeā€ Blade has started already, and I missed the first episode. I think both air Friday nights at 10 or 11 pm…it is surprising that this network would make a good programming decision for a change. Spoiler from the future-- that entire shitty network died, and good riddance.

Face/Off is also fairly interesting… it’s a show where people who do creature/movie-effects make-up and other stuff related to that compete against each other in challenges like ā€œMake a horror movie villain concept and movie posterā€ or ā€œMake these people into the opposite genderā€, or ā€œMake a zombie that will be in a dance routine like the Thriller video!ā€. The hotness bonus here is that my old honey McKenzie Westmore hosts it… she is the GORGEOUS piece of ass that was once on NBC’s Passions (she was ā€œSheridan Craneā€). I think she was later in one of the ABC soap operas too. Her dad is a pretty big name in the movie effects industry, apparently. Season 2 has started on SyFy, and I got caught up on Season 1 thanks to a marathon G4(!) did a week or 2 ago.

haha, I miss Passions. If they ever released a full DVD pack of that show, I’d buy it. No other soap opera brought that level of ridiculousness to the table. It was glorious.

oh ok, ive seen all of the x-men anime. its pretty good, and i love how much shit tlak wolverine does. its a lot better than the wolverine anime where hes all pretty boy.

did face off season 2 start? the first one was fun to watch.

oh yeah… season 2 Face/Off episode 1 is on right now! SyFy network, folks… I’ve already missed about 20 minutes of it though. Ah, the first challenge— they have to do their own ā€œre-imaginedā€ Wizard of Oz characters. This also reminds me of my old days as an art major… I was admittedly terrible in Sculpture class though… 2d was definitely more my thing.

Todd Margaret is back on IFC! I didn’t even notice until I saw it inside my PVR.

This Face/Off show sounds cool, I don’t think we have SyFy up here though (we got Space channel which is the Canadian equivalent). Hopefully it is online somewhere

yeah, the contestants reveal their creations on a stage in front of McKenzie and 3 judges…heh, and they can be quite harsh in their critiques when something sucks.

heh, they kill me with the typical reality/contest show suspense moments though… like ā€œand the winning team of tonight’s contest isā€¦ā€ then the music plays and they go to commercial of course.

Todd Margaret was a great show, is this the second season that has started or the third?

Dear Fox,
please stop taking popular shows, shoving them in the friday night slot and then claiming the ratings have gone down.

Sincerely Up Yours.

Especially after seeing those smokers they had…damn.
Then I lost my appetite when Ramsay pulled out all the meat from the freezer that was already cooked days before it was being served…that establishment was basically selling leftovers.

I know right…it’s hard enough for me to flip between Fringe, Supernatural, and Smackdown.

Motherfuckers are considering canning Fringe because it’s a money pit.

Yeah…I read about that on Deadline.
At least they are prepared to give Fringe a proper finale if it comes down to it.

On the plus side…I’m glad they stopped with Allen Gregory.
That show was awful.

another show i randomly caught was top secret recipes. it was on CMT LOL.

Luckily, if they do end Fringe, the show’s general plot was all resolved at the end of S3 so it wouldn’t be such an incomplete series.

imo, V’s morena pales in comparison to firefly’s morena. she was nice and thick in firefly, but skinny as hell in V. short hair doesn’t work for her, either.

RW/RR always delivers. The Real World itself is terrible now I don’t know how anyone even watch that shit anymore just a farm system for challenges.

I find it quite amusing that 1/2 of the Firefly crew were on Justice League…

ā€œBeing Humanā€ marathon is on SyFy right now! I can finally get caught up on this show! *checking the guide---- yep, it’s on 'til tonight, leading into the Season 2 premiere. This is quite convenient for me. I’ve missed the first 2 episodes already though.

*cool, the vampire has compulsion powers. That’s one of the more interesting and useful abilities usually associated with vampires… heh, just imagine what one could do with that power…it would be the great game-breaker of life in terms of getting whatever you want(*any woman that would otherwise be way out of your league…that and you could get other people to do your dirty work in terms of various criminal activities). Just one simple thing— say a person has seen too much, or got suspicious and found out… you just compel them: "You’ll forget all of what happened here tonight." Just like that, the situation is taken care of.

*heh, this other ghost guy the girl is talking to in a cemetary has quite the mullet.

*WHOAH that ghost girl is ridiculously hot…

*as usual, the werewolf is depicted as an unfortunate, cursed man/creature. This guy doesn’t appear to have control over his transformation, and it’s shown to be painful. Yeah, the way various forms of fiction have depicted this particular creature of the night… it’s not one of the good deals like vampirism is.
