Let’s face it people, the Emmy’s are a total joke. Nick Offerman has never recieved a single nomination for one of the most iconic TV characters of this generation. How many Emmy’s did The Wire get? How about John noble for Fringe? It’s silly to put any stock in them yet I still choose to get mad when Amy Poehler doesn’t win for Parks.
I knew she looked familiar… I just couldn’t remember the name until now with the Emmy nominations-- VERA FARMIGA is the smokin’ hot piece playing Norman Bates’ mom! I’m wayyyy behind on that show…at this point I will need a marathon to get caught up.
Anytime, Vera… any time, any place.
*damn man… Amazing Race is STILL ON?! Jesus H. Christ… people are still watching that shit Those “…oh that’s still on?!” moments get me every time…
watched the first 4 episodes of orange is the new black and it’s really really good. it’s sorta like a mix between oz, chained heat and weeds (chick who created weeds created this as well).
Well I beg your pardon, but… this is all that needs to be said.
up to episode 11 of orange is the new black and cant wait to watch the final 2 episodes. it’s really excellent and highly recommend it. The acting is superb, characters are interesting (albeit a bit stereotypical), story is engaging, also lesbians. The perfect way to describe it would be a female version of oz mixed with the feel of later seasons of weeds.
Rectify is legit. A good watch, slow paced but great characters. Felt sad for him when his cellmate’s turn came. Abigail Spencer is smoking hot, the American Cheryl Cole lol.
Didn’t know the lead actor Aden Young will be playing Dr Frankenstein in the new movie.
nevermind fucking fail! :wasted: I thought breaking bad was on tonight lol
yeah as mentioned before, I liked rectify.
some girl I know(well not personally) looks just like this abigail chick. she works/owns the grocery store around next level arcade. every time I am there to get some beer(drunk cvs2 is fun) I wanna tell her how prettay she is. its like the sunlight. dont look directly!
They should have gone full immigrants lol
true blood is supposed to be funny right? cuz I am often laughing. shit is so…random
^even though I enjoyed the few free episodes I watched recently (the first 3 or 4 were up on Xbox Live for free a few weeks ago), it is surprising. I was thinking the show would be mostly serious. I still like it though.
Hemlock Grove(spoiler-free random commentary here)—As usual…when critics don’t like something… chances are good that I will absolutely love it-- I finally finished the rest of the episodes of Hemlock Grove. I only hate that the mystery is over now… that shit was awesome, imo. Even the theme-song is great and sets the tone immediately. That must go into my extensive tv theme collection right away, of course. One thing…now that the mystery is mostly over, I’m not sure where they can possibly go with a 2nd season after what happened there, other than the search for a certain other oddball “what the hell IS that thing?” character that ran away. Well, I guess they could redo the mystery aspect a bit by just bringing in more characters that you don’t know what they are until much later on…?
Heh, I love this shit… more shows need to have a mystery that keeps you guessing all the way until the big revelation moments at the end. I can never get enough of that. I love the subtlety in that, where you just don’t know what’s up with a whole family of characters that are obviously not ordinary humans.
Really, when you have supernatural things going on in a show…I’m more than likely going to be all over that. That’s when just about any entertainment medium for me… reality sucks; it’s boring. A situation with werewolves, aliens, vampires, super-heroes and villains, mutants, demons, angels, gods and cosmic-level entities, self-aware murderous robots, secret government super-soldier programs, etc.? That shit is 1000x more interesting than reality. It’s not even close.
Famke J.? Yep, I’d still hit immediately, even though she’s super-skinny and has an awkward build now.
Glad they got rid of the original Newsroom intro, still hate the music, got to fastforward through it.
Olivia Munn’s acting is getting surprising good fast!
Lots of stories being told but all handled really well.
American Ninja Warrior
City Finals next week.
It would be nice if they showed more people running the stage/course versus showing recaps of course runs after returning from commercial break, on NBC anyway.
Some of the obstacles in the revamped Stage 1 is stuff one would/could likely see in Stage 2 or Stage 3, which made things interesting at times for the City Qualifiers.
MasterChef
Everything should just be two stages when the show/season is underway: Mystery Box and Pressure Test
Too many people being ‘safe’, even when losing (in regards to Team Challenge losses), along with variable ‘advantages’ for winning immunity (from winning Mystery Box, plus any variable factors besides receiving immunity).
Hoping someone whose name starts with the letter “J” wins the whole thing.
The Challenge: Rivals II
The Jungle game ‘Snapper’ was kinda cool, though the format was whatever.
Four people at once and blindfolded would’ve been pretty interesting, I think.
Use some Zatoichi-type skills and strike the opposition down, lol.
Summer Camp
Show reminds me of RW/RR Challenge: Battle of the Sexes.
Interest in watching kinda dropped when…
Spoiler
…Erin was sent home.
72 Hours
I’m somewhat behind on a few episodes, but the locales featured are still interesting to watch, from what I’ve seen anyway.
Exit
Though mostly centered around puzzle-solving, the show was kinda entertaining, if only to see if one could keep up with the trivia questions and visual word puzzles, lol.
I only saw ep1 of Camp. Has potential but way too trope reliant.
Yeh the format is getting quite annoying, they are creating drama through voting, this show is quickly becoming less and less about cooking like Hells Kitchen. Top Chef Masters just started so I should still get my cooking fix each week.
So did Master Chef axe the Paula Deen episode??
UGH and why is Krissi on this show, she is one of the most horrible people I’ve ever seen on TV.
Bitch http://www.christianpost.com/news/masterchef-season-4-krissi-issues-apology-for-racist-tweets-99296/
not sure how to take olivia munn’s acting quite yet…still hate the stupid love triangle…rectangle w/e shape they got goin on right now. everything else i really like
Hell’s Kitchen wrapped up last night…
Didn’t really watch it much this season, so, whatever, lol.
The Pressure Test that I like is one where the contestants have to prepare one ingredient in multiple ways.
The Egg Challenge from S3 (6 eggs: 3 egg omelet, 1 sunny-side up, 1 poached, 1 soft-boiled) was quite interesting to see.
The Paula Deen episode didn’t air.
Was the winner this year actually worthy of the job?
Last episode of the bridge was meh. I hopeit picks up again next episode.
No one’s watched orange is the new black yet? You’re missing out.
Final 2 stuff:
Spoiler
Not really surprised that the finale turned out to be one with women, all things considered.
Top Chef: Seattle finale w/ Kristen and Brooke was more hype though, lol.
Of the finalists…
Mary was a bit of an underdog throughout the competition, who slowly came into her own as the season went on, though her ability was often questioned by her teammates.
Ja’Nel performed well overall throughout the competition and mainly just did her thing.
In regard to the final dinner service, both of them performed quite strong, with one difference being that Ja’Nel kept her composure (along with high standards for food stuffs) a lot better than Mary, who channeled Ramsay for leadership role stuffs (to compensate for her presence/voice).
Tough call for Ramsay in the end though, but Ja’Nel was likely the correct choice for the winner of the season over Mary, probably due to the compare/contrast of both their kitchens in action during the final dinner service, besides their overall performance over the course of the season.
