Saw it and enjoyed the hell out of it. The god mode on the machine was so badass, I mean all the crazy shit Reese and Shaw got into was worth it alone.
Root was awesome too, but that’s a given considering her questionable sanity and high I.Q. I wonder who’s the new player, and what’s gonna happen to Carter after what she just pulled off?
Gotta give it to the creative minds behind the show, there’s definitely no shortage of powerful females popping up.
it is a drama, but ya the Doc is the man. I’ll say several characters I hated while first watching the show kinda endeared themselves to me on a rewatch
Yeh looks great, but I’m confused why they’ve called the Michael J. Fox show when he isn’t playing himself? The format looks like Louie rather than something like the Dave Chappelle Show
probably cause its doin a fusion dance of his life and written stuff. I imagine his real life situations with parkinsons and real life acting references are gonna play a big part of the role. I wouldnt be surprised if the whole idea of get the fuck outta the house marty is what his family did.
I liked the scenes with Hannibal and Tobias.
The dinner convo was fun (the comment from Hannibal to Tobias about respecting food was a nice touch) but the 2nd encounter/fight was where it was at.
A Le Chiffre vs. Bond fight should’ve happened in Casino Royale, lol.
Mikkelsen must be enjoying the role, especially the gourmand stuffs.
Though offal is an acquired taste, I enjoy the kitchen/cooking scenes, despite the macabre ingredient choices at times.
I’d probably consider watching an offal-based cooking show if it had the style, execution, and flair that Hannibal demonstrates.
There is just something about the show that clicks on so many levels. The food demonstrations, the macabre atmosphere, the intelligent/cultured dialogue that mask the hidden brutality and murderous actions.
Besides, am I the only who laughed when Hannibal [details=Spoiler]snapped Franklin’s neck? It felt like he did it get to get rid of him as a witness, but also because he was just so damn annoyed with him.[/details]
But yeah, the show is great and this episode felt like icing on the cake.
I chuckled when that happened.
I was like; “Yo, Franklin. Hannibal offered you a way out (to GTFO). Why are you still talking/trying to reason (with Tobias), man?” Then, Hannibal later thought that Franklin’s demise would become part of his ‘design’ in the encounter with Tobias. Probably offed him to spite Tobias as well, besides the likely annoyance factor.
I wonder if there is a culinary expert on hand for all the food stuffs.
It would be pretty cool if that person was a notable chef with a recognizable name, or something.
Maybe there’s a recipe book/collection in the works? lol.
Also, doctor/patient stuffs:
Spoiler
The scenes with Hannibal and his psychiatrist (Scully) are a nice touch/contrast.
Kind of a weird checks-and-balance sort of thing regarding psychiatry work.
Hannibal listens to other people’s problems, but who listens to his problems?
The friendship issue was an interesting subject in the episode.
Hannibal and Tobias
Tobias: Yo, let’s be friends. We like the same stuff.
Hannibal: Ehh. I’m not interested.
Hannibal and Will
Will: I’ve got some case/life problems…
Hannibal: Welp, tell me about them.
There is actually, Jose Andres works as a “Culinary Cannibal Consultant”, teaches the crew how they would properly prepare human flesh. He won Iron Chef vs. Bobby Flay, guest hosted Top Chef, pals around with Anthony Bourdain on his show.
That’s pretty cool for Andres to have role like that.
I’ve seen him on Top Chef and with Bourdain on occasion, sometimes on IC:America as well.
Speaking of Bourdain, he has a new travel/food show on CNN called Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.
It airs on Sunday evenings and has repeats sometime during the week, Fridays, I think.
Watched the premiere of MasterChef, earlier tonight.
Probably see if there is someone to root for after next weeks episode.
Ramsay with the on-the-spot skills test (fish filet stuffs) was an interesting moment.
I was interested in the braised pork belly and jerk meatloaf dishes.
Hell’s Kitchen is on Thursday nights now, apparently.
@Million
Overall thoughts on this season of DWTS now that it’s over.
@CTG
IIRC, you watched Longmire and The Glades on A&E.
The new seasons for both shows premiere on Monday, May 27.
Also, the new season of Falling Skies premieres on Sunday, June 9 on TNT.
So I found out *Warehouse 13 *is cancelled after like ten more episodes. Disappointing, but can’t say I’m surprised. Maybe now they’ll introduce a story arc w/ James Marsters and stop messing with fillers.
*Defiance *has been pretty good. @Million - how is the game? Gameplay looks pretty generic, but if it integrates with the show and has a decent community, I might pick it up.
Continuum has been been great so far. There’s a lot more sci-fi elements now compared to season one.
Grimm second season was terrible. This show had a lot of potential, but I think it’s beyond repair now.
*I hate that I have missed out on Warehouse 13 all this time…well, mainly for the hot ass of course. There’s a girl on there with such an amazing ass and legs… and she had a super-tight purple dress on on the most recent episode. That girl is ridiculously hot, imo… I don’t think she realizes just how good she looks… and that’s always a desirable trait, y’know. (people who realize that they are seriously hot…they tend to be full of themselves simply because they know they can get away with everything in life because of how hot they are)
Defiance the game has been alright… there’s lots of silly things about it though, but it’s “oddly entertaining”. The only real downsides I would warn people about:
Required online. – I absolutely hate this becoming more prevalent in games today…but sadly I’ve done my small part in supporting this horrible business practice by purchasing the game…anyway, if you are offline, you CANNOT play this game at all…since it is an MMO and all that jazz. Also, the patch downloads tend to take quite a long time.
Lack of customization – you’d think by now that this would be a normal thing for MMORPGs…maybe the game glitched up and just forgot to give me more options (this wouldn’t surprise me, considering how glitchy it is) but it’s extremely bare-bones in terms of you character’s look…you pick a generic character background (like whether he’s a veteran, an outlaw, etc.), which doesn’t seem to do much other than decide which set of clothes you start with… and then you pick from a handful of slightly different faces and hairstyles.
Also, the abilities… there’s a lot of perks, but only 4 main abilities. I like having a big selection of super-powers to pick from… there’s only 2 out of the 4 that are really good, imo… “Overcharge”(significant boost to damage for a certain period of time) and “Cloaking” (temporary invisibility).
back on topic----*On Defiance the show, the black dude just hooked up with that red-haired alien girl. It’s a shame this isn’t HBO so we could see her naked. She looks like a wild one…nice.
*I checked out the 2nd episode of the Netflix show Hemlock Grove just last night. It’s easy to win me over with mysterious supernatural stuff, so of course I’m already 100% sold on this show at this point. Bonus: Famke Jansen shows quite a bit of leg in this episode…there’s a NICE scene of her laying on the bed and looking back… then another scene in a car when she fucked this much younger dude she saw in…some place I forgot… the shit was SO hot… the classic “Cougar on the prowl” situation… I love that.
