Television General Discussion

whats good on tv now a days? I only watch breaking bad and trueblood.

Iā€™m still on season 3 of damages (early eps). Too many things to watch, so little time :frowning:

Vegas looks good, especially for a network show. Vic Mackie is working for the mob. lol

I love this show so much.

Finished S1 of Once Upon A Time. Itā€™s what I expect Grimm to be a darker version of.

I didnā€™t think Iā€™d like it since it is a lot more lighthearted and family friendly than Grimm, but the writing is so much better. The acting is by far much better than Grimm. There were times when the Evil Queen would do something and all I could say was ā€œDang! Why so you evil though?!ā€ She goes beyond being the bad guy, they did a great job of her coming off as just plain evil. Regina and Rumplestiltskin are two of the best characters on television.

The way they meshed together so many fairy tale characters seamlessly was also great. Nothing felt forced or ā€œtoo convenientā€ and large part of the fun is figuring out who this or that character truly is.

S1 wrapped up itā€™s storyline, but also started a new one on itā€™s heels which has me definitely waiting for S2.

i watched a few episodes and it seemd cool i but couldnā€™t get over how much i hated hearing the kid talk and considering how major a character he was i had to drop it :frowning:

Iā€™m (re)watching Reno 911!, I remember seeing season 3 on comedy central and nothing else.

So I went to it on Netflixā€¦

Reno 911! is a god damn amazing show, I cant believe it got canceled, though 6 seasons is pretty good for shows nowadays.

Iā€™ll agree that the kid is really annoying in the beginning due to his incessant rambling about how everything is a fairy tale. I feel like around E08 the show runners felt the same and itā€™s not as bad. Itā€™s worth it to stick through it though. Even their ā€œone offā€ episodes are amazing.

iā€™ve been waiting my whole life for this

I donā€™t know this might not turn out like your typical mind numbing reality show, might actually learn a thing or two.

Iā€™m really intrigued to find out how their motor functions work if they have two nervous systems.

theyā€™ve had lots of interviews on other programs about that. they both operate a side, but can switch sometimes. itā€™s kind of like this.

What in the fuck?

I donā€™tā€¦

Anyone catch this weekā€™s episode of Louie??

Inbetweeners US aired. Characters arenā€™t as likeable as their British originals, but some of the recycled jokes came off well. Since the Office did the same but still became a success, hopefully this will too.

For the US viewers, does it feel like Highschool? Head seemed a bit off for me.

This vid has so many dislikes

Not really interested in anything thatā€™s remade from British television at this point - especially if itā€™s airing on MTV.

Anyway, watching the Falling Skies season finale and WOW:

[*]They killed Dai. It wasnā€™t even an epic death. Though the overall scene was awesome his death seemed more like a death for deathā€™s sake. I appreciate it as the producers have long said that want death to be mean something and that anybody can go at anytime, but cā€™mon - Jamil had a more epic death he wasnā€™t half the character Dai was.

[*]Evil Hal should be nice for next season hopefully. Just worried itā€™ll come off too generic. I want a true sleeper agent type story like Boomer in S1 of Battlestar.

[*]All the scenes in the weaponā€™s facility were amazing. The initial battle where Daiā€¦ died, the torture scene (Jessy Schram is amazing), and the following battle w/ Red Eye vs. the Fish-Head followed by Mason vs. the Fish-Head.

[*]New alien looked BOSS!

I was really impressed with the special effects, TV has come a long way

Damages is pretty good. Watched the whole first season on my day off, starting season 2 tonite. Rose Byrne:tup:

New season of Grimm is only Hulu. First two eps give more gore and more lore. Good stuff.

Random - So Michael Shanks is the coma guy on that new medical show eh? Congrats, Daniel Jackson. I never thought that guy would have a main role outside of sci-fi.

Started watching S2E1 this morning on Hulu - had no idea that was the only way to watch it. No wonder I havenā€™t seen any promos for it.

No, itā€™s on TV as well. I just forgot about it cuz I donā€™t watch any NBC shows. Itā€™s 10pm on Monday, but itā€™s scheduled to switch to Friday (soon I think, but not sure).

Same here, I donā€™t watch anything on NBC that I can think of besides Grimm.

Strangely, I watched a lot of ABC last season (Scandal, Missing, Revenge and Once Upon A Time) after not watching anything from them in years.

I miss Alias. :frowning: May have to give Covert Affairs a chance.
