Television General Discussion

Revolution looks good, hopefully NBC doesn’t fuck it up (big budget though). They really need a win to stay alive. lol.

Damn, Fringe isn’t on NetFlix? I need a new show to watch.

Huh I was just day dreaming of a potential video game like Revolution. Hope it’s good and doesn’t focus too much on the teenagers.

Screw NBC and their dual lives series. They won’t get me a third time. reads Alana de la Garza. But I guess I could give it a chance…

Hulu is so much better for network series than Netflix. Too bad CBS is still gumming up the works when it comes to digital.

No Hulu in Canada unless VPN. :frowning:

Amazon Prime? I heard they have a good TV collection also.

ABC has announced their new lineup - none of the new shows sound that intriguing. Last Resort seems the most interesting, but it’s clear they wanted another drama centered around an island.

NBC?! Has ANW gotten that popular?

Oh I guess they ran out of other stunt based game shows to air? Or am I confusing them with ABC?

CBS’ new shows… yea.

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.

The series stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, with Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance.

The pilot was directed by David Nutter from a teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Marc Guggenheim, story by Greg Berlanti & Marc Guggenheim.

Arrow not looking bad. I’ll give it a shot. I’m still puzzled as to why the name of his city had to be changed

Can’t wait for Awake next week. It’ll be interesting to see how these two realities get resolved. It’s looking like one of them is going to have a bad ending.

this looks terrible

It’s getting a proper ending?! That’s good to hear. Maybe I’ll check it out after all.

Revenge

season finale

Spoiler
  • Emily seems to fake a home intrusion to get the evidence from Daniel’s briefcase and says a white-haired man had done it.
  • Daniel tells Conrad about the incident and the elder Grayson orders a sweep of Grayson manor after receiving a video of his son and Emily sleeping, that is supposedly from the white-haired man.
  • Emily goes off to meet the white-haired man, face-to-face, to settle their business.
  • Emily is taken to where Nolan is by the white-haired man who demands she tell him where the evidence is. She tells him and he goes off to retrieve it. After he leaves, Emily frees herself and Nolan and tells him to deliver the evidence to the Feds. She stays behind to wait for the white-haired man to return.
  • Emily fights the white-haired man, who returns with nothing. Though she gains the upper-hand in the fight and is about to choke him to death, she recalls a past memory with her father and lets the white-haired man live.
  • Victoria and the SEC agent talk about some stuff in regard to the evidence and learns from him that Conrad had contracted for David to be killed.
  • Emily and Daniel break-up, due to her ‘moment’ with Jack that was observed by Ashley.
  • Charlotte stay mad at Declan and Jamie and their ‘friendliness.’
  • Victoria and Emily have a moment with the engagement gift, which turns out to be empty. Victoria says that Emily’s future with Daniel was like that of the box, empty.
  • Emily plans to tell Jack ‘everything’. Later on, she goes to see him and all of a sudden ‘Amanda’ appears and happens to be pregnant. WTF
  • Conrad tells Victoria to not testify and she brings up the fact that Conrad had David killed, which he says the order came from high above him.
  • The plane that Victoria and Lydia are on blows up, along with the evidence given to the SEC.
  • Charlotte has appeared to have OD’d on some pills after seeing the news report about the plane crash as Conrad finds her in that condition.
  • Emily is beside herself that the evidence that could clear her father’s name was on the plane that had exploded. Nolan has a backup of the footage and shows it to her.
  • It turns out that the Graysons framed David Clarke and the ‘Initiative’ handled the cover-up. In the video, Victoria makes a reference that there is ‘more to the story’ and it involves David’s wife, who apparently is still alive.

Who is Emily’s mother?
How far does this thing with the ‘Initiative’ go?

Tune in next season.

Awake

finale

Spoiler

The latter part of the episode from the visitation and onward was interesting, like with the two shrinks and their conversation and the scenes with Penguin Fez and Britten’s wife.

A dream, within a dream?

Damn penguins, lol.

I have the last two episodes of Revenge on my DVR. Hopefully will get a chance to watch them tonight and leave my comments.

Man, the final ep of Awake was messed up. Britten was clearly losing it.

ending

Spoiler

As I thought, one of the realities had a bad ending. The other reality had a good ending, but I wasn’t expecting a true ending. I have to say that the true ending poses a lot of questions, but we’ll never know the answer now that the show is over.

So I watched the last two episodes of Revenge…

[]Wasn’t too surprised about the mother being alive. I always had a feeling that the mother was left intentionally vague to bring her up in a story arc later on.
[
]Was surprised that Real Emily came back and was pregnant. Didn’t really see that coming, though you knew Real Amanda wasn’t going to get such a happy ending just yet.
[]I doubt that Victoria is dead, though I think the blonde probably will be.
[
]Don’t think Charlotte is dead
[*]Daniel and the hot british chick - unexpected, but eventually she was going to start making some real power moves. Hopefully she has a larger role in the second season
[/LIST]
Overall, I was satisfied with it. A nice wrap up to the season one arc with a bit of cliffhanger to it as well to expand said arc into something with higher stakes.
