Television General Discussion

It’s nowhere near as preachy as it sounds, quite easy to enjoy as an action film. Hero needs to get from point A to B whilst being heroic meets some companions along the way. I suspect that if this movie had been made with a western director it would have been much more heavy handed with the class allegories.

Ohhhh I’m immediately interested in that for sure. It may be difficult for some to accept anyone else but Doug Bradley as “Pinhead” (I’m already assuming they’d have someone else cast at this point…? He’d be quite old these days and of course I’m not sure if he’d even want to be that character anymore or not) but I’d still look forward to it. Hopefully they’d bring this back to being something respectable and beloved… the later Hellraiser movies most would agree vary from being lame to straight up trash that’s best left forgotten.

Lovecraft…

I’m not sure how to take people’s love for Lovecraft after learning how biggg of a racist he was

I guess it comes down to appreciate the content and not the creator thing? I don’t know. I’ve never found the love craft universe very interesting

I didn’t either. I just looked into it more to understand certain memes and that jj Abrams monster movie. But then found out how fucked he was and got confused it people knew this and didn’t care or what

Yeah. I’m thinking for a lot of people it comes down to appreciate the content and not really acknowledge the creator? I don’t know.

I have a lot of friends who are super into lovecraftian stuff or inspired stuff but absolutely fucking hate Lovecraft as a person.

I mean, Lock and Key is based of Lovecraftian cosmic and psychological Horror and it’s a phenomenal series

His xenophobia does tie directly into a lot of why his work is so damn good since it’s all about the fear of the unkown.

With that said I try to take the work for the work itself. It doesn’t preach racist ideas, it’s just freaky and weird psychological horror with a cool mythos born of a man’s fears. I mean honestly when I read about him I pitied him more then anything.

What do you even need a series for though? Can you top the documentary?

I already hate it

The reboot was perfect. They need to stop trying to bring it back
