Television General Discussion

Perhaps he only gives Reese the number for their city. Can’t be jet setting everywhere right?

In case folks wanted to watch something else at least until The Superbowl— there is a Being Human on SyFy RIGHT NOW!

*another Friday night passes and I missed Blade yet again. I’m still accustomed to there being nothing good on Friday nights aside from my precious Supernatural, since Cartoon Network seems to have forgotten about their recent Friday night line-up being good… I suppose it will be another 20 years before new Young Justice and Thundercats are on again. (or… is it next week? Just watch… the shit will be “on hiatus” AGAIN for a few centuries after 2 or 3 new episodes air…and these buffoons don’t even like to air repeats of the shit…they only repeat the shit I DON’T care about, all day long. I swear it’s like this network goes out of its way to piss me off specifically.)

For real dude Cartoon Network use to be so fucking good for action cartoons an shit. I miss the FUCK outta Toonami.

Come on…What happened Cartoon Network?

As far as TV is concerned I’m glad White Collar is back and it will be nice having Fairly Legal back as well.

Alcatraz was cool but then feels blah due to repetitive nature unlike seen from Anerican Hottor Story. Once the keys come into play I think we’ll be alright.

Just saw Touch and goddamn this is gonna be a good series. The trailer does not do it justice at all.

Didn’t read the whole thread, anyone watching Breaking Bad ? Show is just too godamn good.

I read they don’t want to make it too deep so it’s gonna be a lot of “villain of the week” type stories with mythology mixed in instead of a ton of episodes solely based around mythology. Really sucks, but that’s the state of TV. Networks and producers are afraid that some stuff is just too smart for the general TV audience. It really, really hurts the sci-fi genre. I love Fringe, but I think it could be so much better if they weren’t bogged down by so many standalone episodes. Even BSG had episodes that were kinda like, “ummmm… what just happened in that hour?”

In a way, I blame LOST. II do believe the show was planned with a beginning, middle and end, but it was received so well early on that ABC forced the show to last longer than it should have - causing all the random crap that really didn’t make a lot of sense in the middle of it’s run. At least IMO. All that crap complicated the story and chased a lot of people off. It got to the point that if you missed an episode or two, you were completely lost.

No pun intended.

On the bright side though - at least we’re getting good sci-fi on TV in the first place. And FOX has promised a legit ending for Fringe, whether it ends this season or next.

WTF is wrong with television these days? I’ve been watching The History Channel for the past two days trying to fill my head with random historic knowledge while I do my schoolwork, and all I’ve been seeing are a bunch of shows about rednecks riding around, shooting guns for amusement, and hunting animals. I thought this was the damn History Channel, not Spike TV.

Meanwhile, The Travel Channel has better food shows then the Food Network, and G4 is still showing stupid shit not related to technology. What can I watch other than the Military Channel that’s informative?

Yeah, that’s the problem… so many networks are straying too far from the original theme of their network. History channel is a classic example… it’s a collection of random stuff at this point (I also don’t care about guys and 1 girl driving big rig trucks…or oil rigs…or “Swamp People”[whatever the hell that is about] and pawn shop shenanigans)… stuff that doesn’t appeal to me. However, I did enjoy their alien and space-phenomena shows though, which I guess is also away from the original intent of the network…anyway, “History 2” is “the real History channel” now. I’m still surprised that this shit that is currently on History is apparently successful. It’s like how MTV2, at least when its early days, was “the real MTV” since the original channel had morphed into something else.

G4 is probably the worst offender of all time with this issue. It would be funny to go back in time and show the TechTV or “ZDtv” people what their network is now in 2012, with COPS marathons being on almost every Saturday and Sunday. (*occasionally swapped out for “Campus PD” marathons… I suppose this is their attempt at “variety”. It’s like an ongoing practical joke being played on the audience.)

*Last night might’ve been the hottest episode of The Secret Circle I’ve ever seen…that image of Faye laying in bed half-naked, then getting up with just the panties on…that will be with me forever. Then the girls had a slumber party with Diana (with some very small shorts on) being drunk the whole time, and Melissa being high on something…this is the stuff wet dreams are made of, folks.

Ratings.

The History Channel and other niche networks always do well at the start, but the charm wears off and they stretch the theme of their programming just to stay afloat. But yea, the “in” things right now are redneck reality shows and random stuff involving auctions - which can probably be considered global redneck reality shows.

I actually like Pawn Stars (the original one?) - it’s amusing and they do talk about history.

Oh what a surprise… I checked the schedule for today and yeah… again there is NO Young Justice or Thundercats today. CN can fuck right off to hell, man.

It would’ve been perfect since I happen to have taken the day off for a change, but no. It’s like the network keeps secret files on what I like, and they make sure to show everything in the world EXCEPT that shit… and I’m still amazed that they continue to waste space on King of the Fucking Hill. I suppose they realized they were coming dangerously close to being good again, so of course they had to go back to being worthless.

…on the other hand, I did happen to catch an episode of the newer Star Wars cartoon, and it had a surprisingly bad-ass fight scene going on with Count Dooku vs. 3 assassins that were sent to kill him. Outside of maybe Revenge of the Sith, none of the fights in the SW movies were as good as the fights in the animated shows.

Anyway, this show is THE SHIT™: http://science.discovery.com/tv/monster-bug-wars/ I’m sad to say I only recently got into it, and they’re apparently on the 2nd season already.

lol when I watched Person of Interest I was not expecting to see ex American Idol contestants with main roles. Saying that Astro the astronomical kid did a good job.

Science channel in about 41 minutes— Monster Bug Wars new episode! I hate being so late to the game with this… that show is awesome.

So that’s what happened in the premiere episode flashback.
The ‘crazy dude’ got shot and killed.

What happens now?
Find out in two weeks.

The new season of Top Shot premiered this past Tuesday if anyone is interested in that show.

And for Million, the Thursday night episode of The Mentalist appears to feature Morena Baccarin, when I saw a commercial for the new episode last night on CBS.

Anyone else been watching the new comedy central skit, Key&Peele? Reminds of Chapelle Show. Has its moments. I hope they keep it around.

I was actually surprised there are still new episodes on tap. I went into last night’s episode thinking it was the season finale - so I was pretty hyped to see more episodes coming in two weeks.

Did this show get a 22 episode first season order from the start? That’s pretty big for an unproven hour long drama.

yep… anything that has Morena Baccarin prominently featured is a winner with me. That girl is a living work of art. She’s on another level that is far above ordinary mortal women. That show may have gained a new fan if she’s a regular.

My usual Vampire Diaries + Secret Circle combo is tonight with new episodes…yes yes…

NBC put up their pilot episode of Awake online…which will debut on March 1st.

I really enjoyed it so far.

This season of Archer is brilliant
