The game, I hope, will just be a better Project Justice with Tekken and SF IP. If not, as long as it’s a good game then I’m cool with it.
If it shows up at E3 (and I hope it does) I would be happy if they just showed some of the Ryu’s attacks. I wonder about the Dragon Kick and the DP and how would the EX moves work (if they decided to make moves out of that).
Proj should be unblockable just like the rest of the tekken cast. unless its like Alisa
I don’t understand why people think projectiles in 3D fighters will need to have some kind of mind-blowing and revolutionary implementation when Rival Schools and GNT did this a decade ago, and the rest of the 3D fighting industry just never caught on.
Well Rival Schools plays more like a 2D game
EDIT: I also don’t want them to go for the two different control options the rumours were saying
Where Tekken fights fight with 4 buttons and Capcom fight with 6. I think that would be really lazy
Just look at Eliza from Tekken Revolution and see her fireballs. They’re medium attacks and blockble. Although, they’re chargeable until they become unblockable.
What I want to know is if full on SF style zoning from full distance will be viable at all.
The game should have 50 characters with 25 on each side.
Battle Arena Toshinden did it nearly 2 decades ago.
KOF Maximum Impact series also had them, you could sidestep in those games, but some projectiles were so fat, they became difficult to sidestep.
not all projectiles are unblochable Unknown spikes are all blockable as is A.Ogres sphere Eliza’s I see are already mentioned. The only recurring theme I see is that fire as well as lasers are unblockable. this would fit with tekkens general universal logic mechanics. Knees are unparryable, side throws are broken using the arm at the side they are grabbing you from, you cant block while turned around, cant block the pointy end of a blade.
My main question is: given how Namco has come to the dark side with Tekken Revolution, what is going to prevent them from turning TxS into a DLC scam that makes SxT look like a a steal?
Why would Namco do anything stupid. TR is a F2P, of course stupid things will happen when a game is “free” to play. This game is going to be fire once it hits shelfs, maybe better than Tekken Tag 2. Still waiting on a announcement and the day we can pre-order it.
Tekken Revolution is f2p. I don’t understand your logic on that. Besides, Harada is smarter than that. TxSF will be the bomb when it comes out. My friends are really excited for that game and want more info on that.
Harada knows the bomb it is, that is why he has not shown much yet. He wants to be sure everything is perfect for SF players, TK players and the newcomers.
I like cuter females (although the look doesn’t work for everyone).
Pretty much this.
Also interested in seeing how prevalent poking/spacing will be.
The changes in women takes them from a more “this is how some women actually look if they have all of the perfect stylists / cosmetics / ect” to “this is how women look after being airbrushed.”
The only one I think looks BETTER is Asuka and even her original is good, she looks more chinese in that. Leo they look like they tried to make her into a jpop star. Nina looks aight in both forms I just prefer her older one. Ling looks like they de-aged her down to 12 but gave her a huge rack.
As for who will be in it?
Expect Rolento. Harada has stated that Rolento is one of his favorite characters from SF. He seems like he’d be a good fit too with his baton having great sweeping attacks that are hard to side step and pogo stuff having low crushes.
Guy of course could work really well, be interesting to see if the game has walls he can jump off of or if there is really much in the way of jumping at all.
Cody seems like he’d work well, interested to know if they go with Alpha cody or Final Fight Cody. Either way, his attacks seem like they’d fit well into the game. Be interesting if they could figure out how to implement the knife into the game for him. I’d love to see how they expand on his laying down move set given his lazy nature. Also badspray seems like it’d have great potential if they don’t make it easy to side step or very obvious startup. I hope that they find a way to implement his old V-ism dodge in some form, like a stance change where he can naturally dodge highs/mids instead of blocking them.
Dudley is practically a shoe in, his style is fit perfectly for Tekken. Short Swing blow, ducking, high low game, launcher (crHK), counters, chains, juggles. He’s set.
I hope they bring back Alex for this one as well as Eagle and Sodom. Karin is a bit of a pipe dream, I think she’d fit well but her chances are slim at best.
shesh when you look at the ttt2 and then the tekken revolution side by side pics, nina and christie and even ling look like something you’d pick up in a transsexual bar
imagine SF characters with combo strings lol.
Yeah Rolento and Ingrid have great chances since they are both Harada’s favorite SF characters.
Ingrid has even bigger chances since she ranked 3rd place in the TKxSF poll on the SF side, plus Harada wanted to pair her up with Lili.
I do wonder about Ganryu though. He is Harada’s favorite character in Tekken yet he ranked last in the TKxSF poll on the TK side and 2nd last as a whole (1st last was Rufus). Plus he is pretty unpopular.
Harada oughta make the smarter decision and pulling Ganmi Chan from the TKR character concept poll and putting her in the game. No doubt she’ll end up popular
Pokes spacing and zoning are all part of tekken’s current formula you just have to understand how tekken works.
I wonder how Ken/Ryu/Akuma and the like will do with fireballs in a 3D game against the Tekken characters. Wonder if theyll be better than the robot girls arms and Devil Jin’s lazer eye beams.
