Tekken Tag Tournament 2

Nice, you playing Lei/Jaycee team in TTT2, I know I will. Been a Lei player since T2 as well, though I only started playing competitively towards the end of DR. As far as Julia, I picked her up in DR and then she slowly started to replace my old secondary, Raven, by BR.

Nice, right on  I started playing competitively in T5, though most times I was pretty out in the first few rounds lol. Lesson I’ve learned since then: play tons more casual matches before the tourney starts. For some reason I thought I could just walk into a tourney “cold” and do decently.

Tried playing Lei recently, and wow… so much to digest all over again! But it’ll be fun, and I like all the stance options (and ways to get into them) he has now

EDIT: Oh yeah, my main team is no doubt Lili/Jaycee in TT2, but I would like Lei/Julia as an alternate team.

Ya from 5 to 6 Lei is pretty much a new character, they changed frames, properties, added new transitions, and more, but thank god in TTT2 he finally has a ws launcher. He also has a new transition into Coiled Snake, ya its alot to digest but T6 Lei will prepare you for TTT2 Lei, glad they didn’t change him as much as they did from 5 to 6 again. Also, Julia maybe nerfed but she still has the tools, just have to play a bit more safe as shotgun and spin are now -13.

I love how the Steve forums at Tekken Zaibatsu, in the TTT2, have no combos.

Bunch of forums do not have combos yet, seeing as how the game is only out in certain parts of the world and that there are far many more combos in TTT2 than T6 BR

That didn’t stop everyone else from posting up combos for other games.

I think the Tekken scene is very, very lazy.

Then why don’t you do it? Seeing as the only thing holding them back is them being lazy. What you have to understand that the game is still fairly new and pretty much 80% of the people on the boards do not have acces to it yet. Besides, seeing from previous games, the one release for consoles will probably be a different version from the arcade one, which is still being patched and certain combos do not longer work.

Seriously, it is not like you even need a combo list, unless you have an arcade with TTT2 nearby, in which case you should be contributing, and not people who only get to see youtube videos or at best a play few hours with an old build at some tournament.

Can’t just really expect to have everything figured out and served on a silver plate this early, specially when only a few people have acces to it.

News Flash: I’m new to the Tekken series, retard. Hard for me to contribute anything when I know nothing about the game.
News Flash x 2: Other scenes for other fighting games had info way before anyone had access to it. Street Fighter 4 Villain info was easy to find even tho it was Arcade only. BlazBlue CS2 info was easy to find any tho THAT was Japan Only. I can go on and on about this… Tekken scene is lazy, straight up.

Granted, I’m glad you guys pointed me to the right direction, but who knew the right direction was so bad.
There’s terms being used that I don’t understand, yet nothing any where explaining what they are. Especially characters who have different stances. I mean, holy fuck, I’m glad I’m in boxing otherwise I wouldn’t know what ‘alb’, ‘flk’, or ‘pab’ for Steve. I had to think about it while looking at the combo notations and be like “WTF does all this mean?!” only to see someone here at our Arcade who knew how to play Steve did some of the stuff and I found out what’s up.

Otherwise, let’s face facts here…
The Tekken forums are in no fuckin’ way noob friendly.
I’m gonna feel bad for those who get it on console next year, trying to find info on this game, only to be turned off by the overwhelming amount of unknown terminology on this game, and the only way to go about learning it is to be a Tekken player.

Only thing keeping me playing are the players here at the Arcade telling me what’s up.
Otherwise, I would’ve gave up on this game by now (TTT 2 that is).

Dude, calm down.

Like I said earlier: most T6 combos still apply in TTT2 unless stated otherwise. So, you can just go in T6 Steve sub-forum, pick the basic stuff and work from here. Then, you learn by trial-and-error what you should to with your second character as a Tag Assault Assist post-bound - and vice-versa with Steve as the TA Character and the second one on point.

Bear in mind that only recently that people outside Asia got their hands on TTT2 on a regular basis, so everything is still WIP. So, instead of complaining, do yourself a favor and use your energy to search the stuff in a proper way.

On the plus side, knowing juggles alone isn’t the way to make you a better player: spacing, movement, frames, poking and character matchup are as much as important (if not more) than combos. So, even if your juggle repertoire is modest, focus on the basics beforehand.

tl;dr:
[]Go to T6’s character forums to learn their basic combos, modify them post-bound at TTT2 with your second character’s Tag Assault of Choice;
[
]Do read TTT2’s character subforums - yes, everything is clustered and desorganized for the most part, but it is worth the time to read everything and grasp on what said character’s changes in TTT2 (juggles, moves proprieties, etc).
Most of the basic stuff can be found by searching the T6 forums when picking up a new character, pretty much every character has a thread there where they atleast go trough the different stances and most of the time how to apply some of the characters moves. If combos are what you are looking for then you kind find that aswell in the T6 threads, with small changes.

While i do agree that picking up Tekken can be confusing, most of the issues can be solved by either; checking the forums properly, asking or just practicing. If you just look hard enough in the forums you will most of the time find it, specially of you are looking for basic stuff since you are starting out.

Just because certain games have gotten info earlier does not mean every game does. A fairly big chunk of info is out about tekken, as in move changes, frame data, all the mechanics in depth and all that good stuff. Just because that theres no official juggle list in every character forums does not mean people have been lazy, a bunch of people on the boards are trying their best to get as much info out there as possible.

If you ask in the character Q&A threads in the character forums and actually search the forums properly, not only will you probably find what you need, people will not have not get pissed because you decided to ask the same question that has been asked a bunch of times before and can easily be found, it does not only apply to tekken forums, but pretty much all fighting game, or game forums in general. If you ask for something which you can’t find then people won’t bite your head off for now reason.

It is just the fact that they rather focus on more important stuff at first than juggles (seeing as with a little bit of creativity, and taking bits from the T6 juggles you can make pretty decent ones), which would take a shitload of time to write down seeing all the kinds of team combination, all the launchers, vs all sizes of characters, without a wall, at the wall, after a florbreak, balconybreak etc when people still have not found out all the things you can do in combos and the fact the game is constantly being patched in the arcades, just take a look at the neta clips on youtube(search for theater10), which consists of combos, most of which do not work anymore. The amount of content in TTT2 is hard to grasp if you are new to the series, so i don’t really expect you to understand.

The game is pretty much only available in Austraila and Asia so far with only a handful of arcades receiving locations tests in the US (3-4 arcades at best i think). Not to mention a fair bit of arcades have been refusing to buy the machines due to their high prices, and the ones that did had a big number of players refusing to play because of the prices per play, it is not until recently many people have started playing it seriously now that prices have gone lower.

I’m sorry guys.
I’ll buy you guys dinner.

Meow.

Damn, I ain’t never seen so much hate for a single character style in one series. I thought Hilde from SC was bad; Eddy and Christie aren’t even broken. They just get flak for being too beginner friendly. What’s worse is that it makes them prime suspects for racism. Two excellent designs and an old slavery pastime ridiculed for being too easy to use in a video game.

Stay classy Tekken fans.

I love the redone intro music

Only scrubs hate on the capos, just because they don’t even know how to beat a simple masher. I have never heard of people hating racially on them, only heard people complain about them being mash friendly. When it comes to learning them properly they are one of the least beginner friendly characters due to all of their stances and unsafe moves.

I agree. Every other character more or less seem to be standard launch and go, but Eddy/Christie’s playstyle is so unique it’s hard to play them the same way.

Yeah, the capos are pretty different, so it is hard to get into the right mindset and getting to know how and when what moves should be used. I don’t think Tekken is such a launch heavy game as most people make it out to be. While it is true that some characters launch more then others, there is a fair bit of poking, spacing throwing and oki involved to name a few things other than just juggling.

Capos in general are very poke heavy[even more some chars as they have some of the few safe lows in the game] although they have a few solid mix ups under their belts. Once you play them enough the random factor slides outs a bit and they settle onto this play style.

I think we should all be hating Hwo anyway for his now stupid good pressure and insta kill stuff. Can’t wait for people in the cades to start pulling that…

I actually find capos quite good at playing it defensively honestly. Their reach on several moves allows a decent enough keep away game where it makes the opponent having to commit to get any damage on you, couple this with some of the mix up and you can keep the opponent hesitant. Can’t really find a decent “fuck off” move in kissing range though, maybe b+2 or db+1+2. Annoying thing though, characters can float you in from RLX. :arazz:

B+2 is pretty godlike tho as long as you’re not doing it at -9 or something; safe SS Mid? yes plz! Still the inability to SS[which is HUGE, even Jack can get lucky sometimes D:] and few good high crushes and yeah I can share your pain. It doesn’t feel like they can do much against pressure. however, I’m pretty sure most chars can’t kill RLX if you don’t do a move, except like Steve[ff+2]? But he’s pretty BS anyway lol.

Hahaha yeah B+2 is their sidestep. But screw me If that shit ain’t predictable, I have to go back to df+2 and df+1,1 cheese after they get the idea.

DVJ gets a 1+4 lift.
William sisters both get a d+4,1 float. Nina can carry your ass to a wall and rape you though.
Bruce’s d+3,4 lift combo… After that it’s a complete nightmare.

Don’t mind my sketchy details, I meant float you from mid moves. But yeah If you stay in RLX you’re a bit more safer… They still kinda hit you with a low kick or something.
