TTT is an unusual game in that the tiers aren’t very far apart…except maybe korean mishima wavedashing. It’s quite possible to play any character with a fairly good chance of winning especially since I don’t imagine your arcade attracts seriously good TTT competition anymore.
Comments on the tier list…yes the mishimas are high with the low/high/throw mix up out of wavedash…ogres are high. 1,1,2 for ogres and mishimas is also useful. Yoshi flash owns…it’s a free high damage combo for a 5 frame counterattack. Flash into u+1+2, 1+2. large number of useful unblockables, fast jab, f,f+4, etc. Too bad d/f+4 was weakened from Tekken 3 :(. if any of you play T3 still, d/f+4 with Yoshi was the shit :). Anyway, the tier list really should be something like mishimas + ogres in first tier and nearly everyone else in a second tier except alex/roger.
Nearly every character in the game has strategies that gives them good chances to win. But since you seem to want to win fast, start with the Mishimas, Bruce, Brian, and Julia since their games are very easy to learn in comparison to many others…Julia is better than Michelle for one reason…mad axes…
The Ogres, hwaorang, yoshimitsu, grapplers, etc. are not easy to learn quickly on a highly competitive level.
It’s good to know a little about every character though, otherwise you’ll get hit with strings you don’t know how to block and you won’t know where you can poke people out with a d+1.
I’d suggest you learn a little about everyone if you really want to win.
Very basic rundown on Mishimas -
1,1,2 = 1 is usually pretty safe…and if it lands, the rest of the combo is free. Good damage, very fast.
f,n,d,d/f,f + 2 = (e)wgf. juggle starter, leads into very very high damage combos…hits mid and is only 11 frames.
f,n,d,d/f+4 = hell sweep. It’s also juggle starter, and hits low…good mixup
f,f+1+2 = headbutt throw…requires 1+2 to break out of it…can be tech rolled.
f,n,d,d/f,f+4,(4) = axe kicks, alternate motion possible with Jin and Kazuya d/f+4,(4). second kick can be delayed, is often used as part of a juggle. (e.g. ewgf, 1, move forward, 1,2, axe kicks) and hits mid…good for a beginner to hit crouchers if you haven’t mastered EWGF.
These alone will take you far in TTT if you just want to win early…it’ll take a LOT more work for you to get really great at the game.
