Tekken movie coming soon

 I think I’m the only one hyped to see this. I’m not hard to impress.
Alisa FTW!!

Movie wasn’t too bad.

Tekken movie

Spoiler

Xiayu gets forcibly hired by the G Corporation to find a mysterious guy who ties into the Mishima family.
Alisa is also tasked to do the same by Jin.
Xiayu and Alisa team up to investigate and cheesy hijinks ensue.
We find out that the mysterious person was a high schooler who was experimented on by Heihaichi to carry the Devil Gene.
It basically culminates in the high schooler leading Jin and Kazuya to have a confrontation along with Heihaichi.
Three way fight happens between the Mishimas and its pretty damn good.
Eventually we get a fight between Devil Jin and Devil Kazuya with Jin winning.
Then we get Heihaichi using the Mokujin powers to transform into a giant Mokujin to get rid of Jin.
It fails due to Alisa shooting her rocket arms at Heihaichi and Jin giving the final killing blow.

I’ll be honest, I saw it today and was kinda disappointed. I kind of expected more character variety; all we got was Xiayou, Alisa, Nina, Anna, Jin, Lee, Heichachi, Kazuya, Ganryu, Mokujin, and Panda. The fight scenes weren’t bad, though [details=Spoiler]the transformation stuff was a bit much. Pretty deviant from the game designs and I thought they were a bit overdone. Same for Heihachi’s “Mokujin Armor”.[/details]

Eh, I liked the original Tekken anime movie better.

I loved the movie. Takes a lot of liberties with the canon, but I don’t care. I really enjoyed the movie.

Leave it to gamers to settle for (and even praise) mediocrity.

Things like this is why Japan will have another decade of unimpressive media because it’s obvious that only idiots watch and enjoy what they dish out with their minimum effort and creativity.

Reading you’re previous post, sounds like you’re just a whiny bitch. Of course, you’re free to not like it, but don’t be a jerk about it.

Did we see the same movie? My friend and I just got back and it was terrible. An hour and a half of high school bullshit followed by a supposedly immortal guy dying from a Potemkin Buster followed by the animality fight scene from Mortal Kombat Annihilation. The character choices were poor, the dialogue was poor (“I’m your refrigerator…” What the fuck!?), even the fight scenes, the one part of the movie I was hoping would be redeemable, were mediocre. Overall, it was an utter abomination.

As a side note, I did think it was funny that three of the English VAs from Blazblue were in this though.

Yeah, you better not have bought SFIV, SSFIV, SSFIVAE, DLC, MVC3 and be planning to buy UMVC3.

Anyway, I thought it was okay. The explanations at the end (after the credits) made good sense for why they chose to do certain things. I liked the fight scenes, and they made Heihachi a fuckin beast. The cheese factor was super high, like sickening. But overall after SFII TAM, and MK1, it’s up there as far as FG adaptations. Dont know how much thats actually saying, because we know the stories of FG’s arent their strong point, unless the title is Mortal Kombat,(which is heavily retconned)

End.

This. 100%. After hearing the explanations, it made the movie tolerable and aight to me. C Grade in my book.

This movie was bad. Im sitting in the theatre now pondering of all 3 movies which was the worst:( . But damn its pretty to look at! I give it a D+ and should of used the 1hr and a half to practice for EVO.

Eh still getting the BluRay for dat TTT HD and TTT2 demo. Hopefully I can get it for a cheap price over here~

How does this compare to other CG movies made by the game’s publisher? Like Advent Children and RE: Degeneration? I’ll watch this once it’s out on DVD/BD.

Being honest Advent Children Complete is probably the better movie. I did had greater appreciation for what they were trying to do once i saw that interview after the credit.

i agree. this movie was really cheesy. almost every moment that was suppose to be sad had me laughing instead because it was hilariously bad and over exaggerated. the action scenes were the only cool thing about the movie.

You know that anime cliche where cute Japanese schoolgirls run into situations that would be stressful to the rest of us, but they see the confrontation as a chance to make new friends and “do their best?” Blood Vengeance has that. And every other anime cliche you can think of. In fact, most of the movie is about those two idiot schoolgirls learning what it means to laugh and love. Because that’s what I think of when I think Tekken. Not Jin or Kazuya, who don’t even do anything until the end of the movie. Not any of the other, more interesting characters in the Tekken universe, of which there are many. Not fight sequences, of which there are only really three big ones.

No, I think of Xiayou and Alisa, and how they taught me that the human spirit is warm and cuddly like a refrigerator, but also, that the human race should die because three guys can’t stop fighting.

Advent Children is better but not by much. Had it not catered to the (stupid) fans of one of the most overrated RPGs ever made it (that would also ruin RPGs in general) it wouldn’t have had anything going for it. The models were ugly and the script was made from what must’ve been the lower end of the FFFan.com fan fiction community but hey…at least it had Cloud, Sephiroth, their swords and a motorcycle so that’s a wrap.

RE Degeneration may very well be equally bad as Tekken Vengeance but it’s too early too tell. Degeneration at least tried to take itself seriously and attempted to tell a story closer to it’s origin (the games) while Vengeance just made fun of itself the entire time with it’s borderline-alternate-universe plot and it didn’t even try to bounce back. Overall they both suck pretty bad and have the most amateur-hour action and wtf-moment drama moments I’ve ever seen in modern Japanese story telling. Had they been made in 1986 they would’ve had a much better excuse for being so hokey and poorly written. And Vengeance might’ve actually been funny back then.

More info on Degeneration here.

I won tickets for this movie, gave it to my friend he’s going to see it tommorow

maybe the worst possible moive that namco/bandai could have done with the series. super big fuck you to any story established or character interaction/design.

best part was what was said after the movie in the 1 on 1 between them.

cant wait for lee gifs

I loved the movie! It was so hilariously bad, seeing it with 5 friends and cracking jokes about it the whole time has easily made this the most entertaining movie I’ve seen all summer . But seriously, my favorite line was something along the lines of “No, my refrigerator was warm.”.
