So as I’ve played a little more I’ve learned that even a little bit of lag on a good connection against a decent player is shitty.
I was held in check by custom strings and block stuns by a good Anna player the other day. The connection was better than average, yet when someone puts together an offense that would usually require quick timing on counters or parrys or even just blocks to stay alive, I couldn’t do it. The Anna player killed me by just getting in and letting loose. In the arcade I could hit d/f to parry on reaction, but all I got was heels to my face. Or when I needed a quick ws+4 or d+1, the timing was off and I got more heels to the face.
So yeah, this shit is ridiculous and no one should take it seriously. A good offense is all you need. Fuck spacing, fuck counters, fuck defense in general. It doesn’t work.
I think the whole ranking aspect mind fucks with me a little. Its like on one hand i don’t care about the rank but at the same time, i would at least like to be able to get one of the ranks like Champion and stay there.
Its kind of hard to not care when you’re getting screwed over by stupid stuff.
This is why I only ever play DR with my crew.
All good people, all gentlemen, so if you get a 23+ win streak nobody is sitting there threatening to kick you out or being a bitch about random pokes or admittedly repetitive BNB combos.
It’s a competitive game but all in good fun.
The last experience I had with online DR, some guy was playing Devil Jin and just spamming F+4, 1+4, 2, F, F+2. Literally, he was doing nothing else, even if it didn’t connect, he whiffed a hit, or I just blocked the entire string. He seriously did it over and over and over. And of course, I win, he boots me, I just go back to playing with IRL friends who know how to play.
Fuck online modes for fighting games.
It seems like everyone are such whiners when they lose.
I guess im from the old school cuz I took my beating like a champ in tekken 5 on the ps2. I can remember my homeboy trespassing peter schooling me at the beginning something like 30-6 daily. the only reason im playing dro is mgs4 bundle. l now these scrubs are complaining off of a 5 win streak!? I hate playing some ppl that just don’t get the concept of playing to get better. ill lose no biggie but getting kicked for winning and at the same time the host won’t kick the bastard with the jacked up connection… its rediculous.
If someone picks Lili, I can’t help but assume the worst from them. I’ve seen a couple of good Lili players, but the rest are all about knocking you down and abusing the flips. Then there are the ones who just love using her unblockable even if it doesn’t hit.
But I’ve found if they go for the predictable strategy, you can take them out easy. Just be patient and punish them when there’s an opening in their defense.
Lei is the one that messes with me though. Worse than Christie and Lili when in the right hands.
but i have seen some people who i’ve played against have all green bars but my connection becomes laggy as hell. and it seems to always be the higher ranked people who have green bars.
I feekl ya bro. I use Armor King is my main and I get hatemail for thows. my record is 89-30 and I can tell ya with a clear conscience at least 20 of those L’s were because of lag. I hope they fix this net code in SC4 and T6
i hate fighting dudes with ignorant connections i lost 2 matches last night that i could have easily won if hwaroang/lee didn’t disappear for 1 second and sniped me with their leg…
I feel you guys pain. Lili is a bitch to fight against. Especially when my connection was Green then dropped to black. I have my modem wired right to my PS3. And that son of a gun turned black the moment I connected with someone. I mean I was lagging so bad, my moves were coming out 3 seconds after I input them. Which was very…very…bad. Especially against Devil Jin…shakes head Namco needs to go talk to Rockstar and see how they built there servers. Cause GTA4 online doesn’t lag at all for me. I just pray SC4 online doesn’t lag. I can see Critical Finishes allll day.
Plays the Williams sisters and Christie? That nigga had an almost 40+ win streak the other day I was on. He always talks about how much he hates Tekken and he cant wait for Calibur 4 to drop.
Jeez I been dropped T5DRO. I understand that some of you don’t really have decent comp in your area, but DRO still isn’t worth its trouble. Too laggy, too many abusers, just impossible to put up with. It’s been out for a while now so yeah I’ve given up on the likely scenario of better netcodes. I’d rather fight the cpu on ghost battle lol, I hope SC4 runs a lot smoother.
The funny thing for me is that it actually lags less when I’m on voicechat, but with that said there are some assholes who keep banning me either because 1.My online rank is beginner(seriously how the fuck am I supposed to up my rank when these dickheads keep dropping me) or 2. I play Lili. I
