T7 is so hype to watch, that grand finals was ridiculous, stakes were high but you saw the Koreans just have a higher level of movement and spacing over any other region. You know this when even the Korean chicks are putting in work.

Also they need a setting to turn off customs during tournament. I know some of these Asian just like to mess around but their customs look like shit and make the game look stupid.

I get the whole tradition with having animal characters I really do, but does anyone really want these characters above other characters that could have been anoounced and when u announced something at the biggest tekken tournament of the year people expect something huge not fucking bears, the online tournament thing was kinda kool tho

On a whole it was a really gd tournament lots of hype matches I didn’t like all the match switching tho and while I do like the game when I see tournament players just throwing out super at the end of a round it does put me off a bit, when this game comes out can u imagine how many people r gonna b doing that at ever chance they get

The game has a ton of characters already, two of which aren’t released yet in Lee and Miguel. Then they said more characters are coming despite the KUMA announcement. So I personally expect Kuma in Tekken and do like using him for fun and to aggravate my friends. I kind of think they’ll do DLC characters too, so there is no shortage of characters currently, more are going to be announced before release and there will almost certainly be a good amount of DLC characters year one.

yeah traditional frame traps are gonna go out the window at end games of matches
you saw saint do it when chikurin went for the grab after the db4
you cant blame him as it was smart to do and utilizes the purpose of rage art the right way.

personally i like the rage drives and would use those more often as alot are SUPER plus on block
so you can scout what they are trying to do

I like the dimension it adds. Similar to meter management, you can’t apply the same approach to your opponent if he’s sitting on resources. All you do is change your gameplan to compensate for it. It’s more exciting both when playing and as a viewer which I think is a nice change, the issue was when RAs did a shit ton of damage regardless of scaling, but it’s been adjusted… and there’s the option of RDs on top of that, so for a lot of characters they don’t just get a defensive or combo option.

well i mean in the sense that now you can blow past alot of stuff
there are frame traps that instead of worrying whether they can get away with anything the percentage of actually assessing the situation decreases if they feel that they can just blow past it

theres a difference between “oh ill try to interrupt but if he follows thorough then im thoroughly fucked” compared to well ill blow through it anyways

it minimizes the amount of guess work that you have to do unless you dont have enough health to compensate for blowing through the move with armor

Having said that, I’m only just now seeing results of the tournament from the stream. I need to pick up some Jack lessons from Saint.

Jack, Gigas, Panda and Bear are imo overkill

For the simple fact that Harada was moving the series after tag into a direction that had the clones differentiate enough to feel like different characters. Kuma Panda feels like two wasted slots I wouldn’t be surprised if we got GunJack down the line.

Tekken 7 is very cool no doubt but the character choices are very boggling.

I get what ur saying I can see why it would make the game more interesting 2 watch but this isn’t SF neither should it try 2 be, meter management and resources were never a part of tekken. One thing I loved about tekken is that if u wanna win u gotta be solid plain and simple. It’s 1 thing to make a comeback from gd play it’s another to just throw out a super and hope for the best

This could’ve been circumvented if they gave the characters customs that actually fit their fucking character and not fucking snorkels, fairy wings, clown shoes and tons of other stupid shit. Some of the customs in this tournament made me wanna rip my fucking eyes out.

If there’s DLC, then I’m thinking Julia. Possibly Christie with a retooled moveset? I don’t know, but I’m still very pissed that there are no black males at all.
