Bob infinite is a pretty well known issue. Counter hit launchers and wall splat are very common and many of those shown don’t even take the 30% rage boost (that can occur at a minimum twice a match) into account…
By that logic FADCs are also situational in Street Fighter IV.
Ogre is stronger than Ancient Ogre after the patch and Ancient Ogre was used in the top 8 in one major tournament…
…The Bob infinite might be known, but looking at how the video says to perform it, is NOT practical in an actual match, considering the very strict timing and that screwing it up a smidge (really easy to do) the person can tag-crash out still.
Here is some more bullshit with Hwoarang from actual matches, please do tell me how situational and impractical it is and how Tekken Tag 2 is perfectly balanced. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygYEcchhkpw
no one said that tag 2 was perfectly balanced but the universal mechanics allow for any character to be viable coupled with their individual traits
every move has a way around it even the more powerful ones
any character can win theres no matchup where the characters odds of winning are utterly skewed
and those clips are just combos
my nina, heihachi team routinely breaks 109 damage ( more than half health all the time off of tag buffered launchers)
EWGF or ff+2 into ws+1 combos always reaches that damage and that’s without wall but that doesn’t faze good players which I play every Thursday for offline sessions
every team, every combination in the game has bullshit, combos and tech traps
15% of the solo cast is not competitive and the best tag teams can do twice as much damage in a juggle compared to weaker ones. That is not even taking the varying health % at which rage activates for specific teams. Not even mentioning the various defensive system quirks that make mix-ups and homing attacks nearly useless. Or the realized potential of the custom Combot.

This post right here just told me everything I need 2 kno about ur experience with this game. On that note I will b done talking 2 u about this. Hope u enjoy T7 when it comes out, I kno I will
Virtua fighter has nothing to do with this
I play some of the best players in my area
I drive across town to play matches hell I just had a session where I played 150 matches. I’m grinding constantly with this because that what you have to do
Solo doesn’t matter in tag
Hell you aren’t even allowed to used solo in tournaments
The only character that is really close to having a rough time is angel
Even then she’s completely viable
There are no universal options that can’t be conquered or used to adjust.
If it looks like that you need to work on your movement as that what this game is all about
Tekken 7 VR feature could be incredible. well if they do it right instead of the floating camera stuff first person games use. I mean come on, a first person mode doesn’t need VR in order to have full visible body awareness. but most developers are so lazy with authentic first person view, they either just have visible arms, or make it seems like someone’s eyeballs are located on their abdomen (Mirror’s Edge). I mean like how can you have geniune first person view if you can’t even see your body from the chest down?
Tekken 7 VR mode would have to be something really well designed. well yes, some Tekken fans might feel awkward playing in first person, but Bushido Blade games found ways to make it adaptable and playable in first person. it’s pretty much simply altering the directional controls.
hey I didnt know Tekken 2 had first person. well its been gens. but Tekken 7 shouldnt resort to wireframe stuff.
I played Tag 2 seriously for half a year, but it was unpalatable. Never picked it up again. At mid levels all characters may be viable, but at high levels it is definitely clear which characters can stand toe to toe with strong characters and which are blown out of the water by superior tools. Try playing Angel solo against a skilled amateur Mishima or Bryan player and you will know how viable she is. Tag was used as a gimmick and a crutch, but not thoroughly thought out. The sloppy system design and oversights in the development were blatantly obvious. The bulk of it went to rebuilding assets instead of making sure it came together well. Also, funny that you should bring up movement because Tekken Tag 2 has some of the worst movement in the series with 7 frames of delay on top instead of the usual 5.
Virtua Fighter reached the peak of balance in fighting games, and is a far more eloquently designed 3D fighter. Tekken Tag 2 was a step down from Tekken 6, which at least attempted reaching that peak.
First-person VR ala Tekken 2 would make people motion sick.
Please do enlighten me as to your perceived problems with Tekken 6. If you think Tag gimmick automatically makes all the characters in the game competitive you have not played it against skilled opponents.
doesn’t anyone even remember what Harada said about TTT2? he said something like if anyone thinks TTT2 is the most balanced/fair Tekken then he’d question their judgements
bob and law were clearly top tier in that game
bullshit like laws shaolin kicks jailing on block to cancel into ds 1/2 mixups which also had a auto parry
look at the top of the list for evo the one time they actually had 6 there
all bob and laws
and the tag “gimmick” does make all characters pretty much viable
watch streams for korea and japan
look at the characters that have made it to top 8 at evo and the championships
there are a variety of teams that you can see
Again i have nothing to hide cause i play all the time online and offline against good players
people trying to spell playing solo angel roflmafao and point that to balance issues is hilarious
Bob and Law are not the only ones that are viable in the game and were mostly played for their ease of use and general safety. Just because many were too lazy to learn other characters in the short lived Western tournament scene does not mean their tools were any less effective. There were many Steve and Bryan players as well as others that had a field day with your self professed god tier. Law’s auto parry is the only thing that I would call ridiculous, but it never really played a major role in any match-up with seasoned players in my memory.
Show me Dr. Boskonovitch in the top 8 for a major tournament and I will concede that Tekken Tag 2 is better balanced, otherwise your words fall on deaf ears.
