TEKKEN 7 | Lounge

Glad he’s back. He is a true staple of the series. Originally watching the video I thought his hands looked like they were completely connected to his arms making his hand spin theoretically impossible but actually looking at his artwork from a static point of view, it shows a little more which would make sense for it.

What was in the trailer:

Spoiler
  • Appears to have a lot more moves
  • f3+4 = Power Crush
  • The first two hits of ws11 cancels into his spin.
  • At the beginning of the video, he did some… kind of move that caused a launch state. I can not tell what kind of notation that is.
  • Has a new move that causes him to swing his sword, initiating a Screw Attack on mid air opponents.
  • Has a brand new move out from his Flea Stance, that appears to have crush properties.
  • I do not believe it was possible to walk backwards during Flea Stance as demonstrated in the video.
  • Has a new sword based move that appears to be plus frames on block
  • BT2 causes Screw Attack
  • Due to the fact that BT2 causes Screw Attack, that means ws12 would also do the same
  • Seems to have another should attack… it is either a stand alone move or it is a follow up after f3+4.
  • Appears to have a new launcher that goes into his helicopter stance.
  • 23 string is a Screw Attack
  • … Cool looking Rage Art
    Nothing follows

Yoshimitsu apparently has a lot more tricks up his sleeve.

This is nice and all, but where the hell is Nina?

Uh oh… It is about that time.

Now we just need Nina and we’ll have a complete Tekken game

I was kinda worried that she wouldn’t be in T7. She’s one of the few characters with perfect attendance and I don’t want that to be ruined. Seems like they release characters over time so I guess she’ll be a later reveal. I wonder what they’re waiting for on her though. New design maybe?

Time release has always been a Tekken arcade tradition. Dunno why people are worried that certain characters wont be in when history shows otherwise.

I guess they want to showcase some of the newcomers first before they reveal more of the older cast. I do feel Nina is inevitable but the question is, when?

Okay. It is time for us to welcome Jack-7 into the roster (it was a matter of time).
This is what we’ve saw from the video:

Spoiler

> Jack-7 has a brand new wall throw that looks extremely useful for finishing long term combos at the wall.
> Has a new move out of Cyclone Hammer (1+2) that has Screw Attack properties.
> ub+1+2 is a Power Crush now.
> Has a new string that seems to look like some sort of low punch that goes into d1+2. (Actually, the low looks like df1+2 into d1+2).
> There is possibly a buff on ff1 (not sure about this, because the move was actually meant to be minus on block according to TTT2).
> Screw Attack seems to allow Jack-7 for much better combo options compared to the bound state, thus giving a indirect buff, based on the game mechanics.
> Appears to have a new move where he similar performs a punch with his right arm (it is a 2 input)… whatever that move is it looks like it is plus frames on block.
> 12 is a Screw Attack

Putting the newcomers in first helps the game feel, well, new.

Keep in mind that the game as a whole is still in development and that we still got a while before Tekken 7 is released on consoles.

Kazuya says hi. Been in every game except T3. What’s stopping characters like Paul and Nina from having the same fate?

Were they killed off in the last game?

Well Harada said they’re aiming to have a final roster of around 35-36 characters this time, so somebody from T6 is going to get cut. We just don’t know who.

I guess it’s more than likely that Marduk or Bruce won’t return in T7 since Gigas and Josie pretty much replaced them

Despite my moderate dislike for their color scheme for Jack-7, I can dig. I immediately spotted all the major changes.

And yes, the tailspin is going to be complete lulz for Jack to abuse. Don’t even need to hit very much for damage scaling to negatively affect him.

Notice that when the players begin moving around with Jack-7, there are mechanical sound effects from his movement.
In the past, you would only hear them periodically during some of his attacks.
