TEKKEN 7 | Lounge

I’m also of the opinion you can’t truly know a matchup till you’ve played that match extensively.

It’s always down to those 2 factors anyway: Knowledge and application.

Do you know what to do vs a character/how to approach fighting them, and can you apply it when you need to?

After that it just becomes a case of player-to-player.

As for myself, I’d say I have good knowledge against most of the cast, decent experience against them. I’ve been breaking down characters and stuff since Tekken 6 though, heck even then you never really stop learning new approaches to fighting characters.

The characters I’m weakest against would be Chloe, Eliza and Steve. The first 2 are new, uncommon and I don’t like either enough to pick them up for learning purposes… though there is a good waifu player that uses them decently nearish to my area, but he rarely comes off of PC online for sessions or locals. Steve I’ve always sucked against. Eventually, no matter how patient I attempted to be, I’ll get clipped by a CH b+1 or CH d/f+2 that’ll somehow cost me the game. Luckily one of the better players nearby uses him, so I at least get to fight him a lot.

If you thought top tier Tekken is done for this year, check this shit out:

Some Korean e-sports festival featuring AK, Knee, Super Akouma, Qudans, Anakin, Book and Saint.
It’s single elimination with relatively long sets (bo5 and bo7).
Commentary is sadly by Artosis and Tasteless, which are great Starcraft commentators but have no fucking clue about Tekken.

So I was playing again this Josie with Devil Jim. When she was down I went several times for a hell sweep as oki and she punish it with a hop kick all the time. I don’t know how she could do it so quick while standing up after she was on the floor.

I them fix my approach and went with uf4 or just stop and block or whiff punish her hop kick with an electric, but it was annoying.

geese seems to arrive on the 30th this month…nice present but i guess i still have to buy him :stuck_out_tongue:

looping promo video for the new costume/rageart which got added with the wresting coop on the arcades.
i guess we might get it with the geese update but thats pure speculation.

Lars only?

content which is in the arcade update

lars is the only one who gets a new costume which grants him the new ca related to the wrestler.
king got one too earlyer which is ingame since release.

i hoped for more stuff since the pv02 box showed just a ? but as it turns out its just the trailer which was left out.

This game’s execution ceiling is weird.
I’m better on pad than stick.
But I landed taunt b+4 in practice mode for the first time with Bryan the other day on korean stick.
I’m about 2 or 3 out of 20 on japanese stick.
I absolutely cannot land it on pad. I tried wired and wireless. Hori Controller Pad and PS4 pad. My fingers are actually hurting from trying repeatedly.
seems like it’s not just a matter of doing the b+4 exactly when the taunt hits, but your back and your 4 have to hit each other the exact same time. That could be the only. I’m like 1 out of 50+ right now on Pad.

Don’t think this was posted… may not be a sufficient video, but it has some moral qualities behind it

[details=Spoiler]Who am I kidding… it’s very sufficient

[/details]

That video is great, no sarcasm.

People always act like “Don’t pick Bryan, he is difficult!” acting as if any of the players looking for noob advice going to play against JDCR.
At my level and heck even at orange ranks to some extent, you can wreck faces with mixing people up. No need for PEWGFs or Taunt Jet Uppers. People much less react and much more guess on patterns you previously displayed.

Just knock 'em down and run with it. You can start worrying about learning all that advanced shit when your opponents start showcasing it, and you can’t deal with it.
Everybody has to go through all the skill levels to develop a consistent gameplan that can deal with everything.
Learning dumb mixups and winning by spamming the same low launcher on people that can’t deal with is part of that in my opinion.

This is like the third time this discussion pops up in this thread lol

I feel Bryan is T7’s equivalent of AE2012 Sakura. Yeah sure the character has some really difficult stuff that matters at the highest level of play, but below that level the character is pretty braindead and can beat people by abusing some really silly stuff.

So I was watching this Aris video today and saw he has tekkenbot working on the last patch

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lB7ZEUfF8rg

I check the comments and someone point to this pull request on Github https://github.com/roguelike2d/TekkenBot/pull/58

Finally I can have tekkebot working. This make practice and learning new character so much more easier.

I know some of you will be pleased with this

Bryan is fucking good in this game lmfaooo
All his main tools counterhit with a tailspin and then his wall carry is insane so you gonna eat a bunch of damage at the wall

G corporation building loves Bryan and he loves that stage right back
You get hit with anything you are going to the wall

I’ve been on Tekken a lot more recently and I really do love Eliza from visual design to gameplay. Love her combos, short movelist is a big plus as well.

Bryan is ridiculous because he has like 9 counter-hit launchers. And great lows. And controls the mid-range well. And hits hard.

If more people could kbd with him, you would see him about as much as you see Jack in tourneys.

Why I keep insisting on playing this 2 bar laggy lucky chloe?

I’ve been playing Eliza quite a bit more myself. However, I notice something with a lot of people online;

Is there any specific reason why people do not press the start button at the beginning of the match and skip the introductions? Or, are they really that interesting? Because, people did refused to do this also on TTT2 as well. It’s not that big of a deal but it is just something of a minor nuisance.

People not skipping intros frustrates the hell out of me. The PS4 takes long enough to load, but for some reason everyone needs to see the intro they’ve no doubt already burned into their memory.

Taking time to think strategy of how to get self killed in the game.
