I think 1,2,4 is the main thing you want to know about her.

I am conflicted.

I mean I like Raven a lot. But I feel like I am much better with Katarina right now.

Play who you like. There’s no reason to limit your fun.

interesting tool

not sure how usefull it is since you cant switch the chars.
works native with xbox360 hardware.

what if you like doesn’t like you back so you can’t play em good cause your brain doesn’t worth with their toolset!!!

Logic dictates you play Katarina…

But I don’t follow my own advice though, I’m playing Hwoarang despite currently my Panda being more consistent…

Basically I know in my heart of hearts, anyone with a backsway or a JF I just ain’t gonna play. I just can’t play a character if I know I can’t play them optimally, even if it will take me forever and a day to get to the actual optimum play and execution has always been my weakest link.

So after Katarina, im looking at bob, asuka, and maybe feng. Wanted jack but I guess hcf df1 or whatever is a JF to get the right version to combo after ff1(i think thats it, that elbow move).

Yeah I was checking her frame data and that move looks like his best tool. You can cancel to CD with F and have plenty of mix up options.

Df4 give also the same options with the same stance.

yeah i feel the same
but as you play this game youll start to lean towards those characters anyways

its why i wont play bryan or king
if i could do taunt jet upper consistently or light dash with king I would play them
both of those are hard as shit though

I am pretty trash with Kazuya. My electrics are inconsistent as fuck, my movement’s nowhere near where it should be to play this character properly, and there’s a whole bunch of options I can’t access because my execution just isn’t there yet (iWR out of wavedash; I’m spending enough time as it is to actually manage wavedashing). My Leo is better; I have the execution to access (nearly) all her options, she has more options than Kaz in a lot of situations, she has more cheese, and I’ve played her for longer overall.
There’s still no way I’m switching back to Leo as main. Kaz is just too much fun. In spite of everything I wrote above, I’m still enjoying myself immensely when I play him. Even when I lose, in fact. Leo’s fun too, but she just doesn’t click quite the same way.

If you like Raven better, play Raven. Unless you’re at a tournament, then play Katarina and 44444444 everyone to death for $$$$.

How many people can do taunt jet upper consistently anyway? Can’t be many.

Raven is hard to play not because of execution but because she isn’t straight forward
you can play her a lot of different ways
It took me a while but I figured out my way of playing her and I love it
I can’t even go back to dragunov now unless I just want to pummel someone really bad

I found this youtuber and he seems to be pretty good with Kaz.

TheMainMan / TMM

He is a Kazuya fan who periodically goes to tournaments in Europe and has visited Korea quite a few times. While he is a good Kazuya player, he had a tendency of getting salty over characters that have low stances or are string-heavy, such Eddy Gordo or Ling Xiaoyu for example, as well as… possibly female characters in general. (keyword ā€˜had’. The reason I am saying ā€˜had’ is because he seems to be a bit more professional in his approach nowadays though that might not be saying much). Another case is that he tends to worry a little too much about the casual aspect of Tekken (or the aesthetics) as shown a very long while ago in this same thread discussion when Tekken 7 FR was becoming a thing. He also tends to put a little too much emphasis on execution at times which costs a lot of the time, especially in a tournament environment. TMM is also known to have shared some admittedly helpful tutorial videos on the subject of Mishima’s (along with a few other characters he plays, such as Jin Kazama). He is a noteworthy name in the Tekken community and he has faced off against more than a few top players or high-intermediate players such as KingJae and Fergus for example. He has also matched up with others like JDCR in the past as well.

I’ve subscribed to TMMs videos for quite some time, and his tutorials have been really useful for me. His occasional outbursts of salt are a annoying, but it’s a good source of random Mishima-footage.
His Swedish accent is adorable though.

TMMs PEWGF execution is seriously something to behold though.

Sounds good to me.

Well yeah. I like Katarina as well, I just think that I am having a tiny bit more fun with M.Raven. Even though I lose more with her.

Yup, she is hard, but I will get used to it. She is so fun.

I think Raven is one of the best in the game, she has really good buttons, high damage, good carry and can create damage from a lot of scenarios. I agree with the sentiment that you can play her in a lot of ways, she’s tons of fun.

I tried her a while back but the aesthetic isn’t very me. I don’t play females much.

Is Raven pretty much the same as the old male Raven?

edit: seems pretty identical to the old raven to me.

BTW I don’t think I’ve read this anywhere but I just remembered…for backsway characters, another way you should be able to Korean backdash (backdash cancel)

instead of bb, db~b (neutral where appropriate) and getting an accidental backway,

try

b,b~ub~b (neutral where appropriate). anytime you would hit db, just hit ub.
