Tekken 6 Tier List?

On paper Lars f,f+4,3 sucks, as it’s launch punishable. However, the likelihood that someone blocks it is nil. It is virtually unseeable, and as long as it’s not abused (i.e. only used a few times a match) it’s a solid damaging low.

where do you guys rate lars on the tier list ?

Lars is somewhere in S tier with Bryan, Bob, Law and Steve. Where, exactly, is debatable. A lot of people have him at the top, though.

If you think Bob, Law, and Steve are top tier you lack information about Tekken 6 and how well characters actually preform…Those 3 characters that have new won Tekken Crash and never had a Tekken God rank card in Korea. Good characters, yes, Top tier, no. Top tier is heavily debatable but I’ll give you your choices, Bryan, Nina, Bruce, Julia, Lars, Roger Jr, Devil Jin, Jack, Armor King, Alisa, and Lili. All of those characters besides having strong tournament performances, have won Tekken Crash and or have reached Tekken God rank in Korea. A tier list is based on characters played a the highest level and at the highest level Bob, Steve, and Law do not win consistently,

BTW I’m pretty sure Nina is the best character in the game. She does the most damage, has the best low, has fantastic throws(she has an unbreakable throw!), the longest wall carry in the game, great tracking, good crush moves including the fastest low crush in the game, great oki and tech traps, and favorable match ups against most of the top tier cast. She is almost Top 5 in every single category in the game that is important, not to mention she has Hiashita step, a good SS, and a good back dash.

US top tier is different from Korea top tier, for the simple fact that you have a variety of characters utilized at high level in Korea whereas in the states the top players find comfort in the same handful. And even when comparing the two, the skill levels now are negligible. I’ll put money on Anakin over anyone anyday.

I agree with you on Nina though. At one point, I really thought that she could become best character in game even though I don’t feel right openly saying it right now. And mostly because so many slept-on characters have not been utilized to adequate potential by certain calibur players. It’s sad, but looks like the book is/has been closed on Tekken 6.

We can only hope for a better representation across the board in TTT2. T6 tier list is too subjective unless you go by who has won majors. And that’s not enough.

Tier don’t change between regions. They are what they are no matter where the game is. Korea has the strongest Tekken scene in the world by far. Seoul has the best tekken players per capita anywhere in the world. This is where characters are put to the test in the grinder everyday and this where you should be basing the tier list around. Do we have top level players in the U.S.? Yes we do but they are all spread very far apart from each other most of the time and because of this lack of match up experience plays a much heavier role in the US then it does in Korea.

Facts are facts when you have consistent top level talent in an area constantly going at each other Steve, Bob, and Law can not separate themselves from the pack even when played by the best players. Just think about all the great Steve players like Nin, Dosaki, Rain, FightingSpirit, and how despite them being so good none of them could ever take Steve into Contention for God Rank in T6:BR. Rain could win Tekken Crash with Bruce and get to Tekken God with him but could not pull it off with Steve. It’s should be obvious though why Bob and Steve struggle so much. They lack solid punishment across the board and for the most part rely on their opponents to make mistakes and for them to try and slowly pick you apart. It’s too hard to get a launch with them which eventually over time and acquisition of knowledge leads to them being limited in what they can do and how they can win.

Let’s take a perfect exmple of what just happened at Final Round this year. Again PokeChop and DJ KOR played in a heated match and AGAIN Pokechop won. Bruce vs. Bob. I think there are some people out there that would claim KOR might have the best Bob in the entire world or at least plays Bob at the highest possible level yet ever single time despite that he can not beat Pokechop’s Bruce. Bruce just has more tools, does more damage, and is the overall stronger character. Bob can d+1 and jab all day but eventually Bruce is going to get a read and catch him with a CH 4. hopkick, or b+2 and the tables drastically turn. Bob doesn’t have tools like that.

It’s all up for debate because in such a balanced game as Tekken 6: BR we may never know the real tier list. It might take 20+ years of playing the game to find it. However as a closing comment I will leave my Top 5 in order. This has been the top 5 I’ve had for a long time now.

1.) Nina
2.) Bryan
3.) Julia
4.) Bruce
5.) Lars

as for what’s left for possible Top 20 I don’t have an order but

Jack-6
Roger Jr.
Devil Jin
Alisa
Lili
Armor King
Steve
Law
Bob
Capos
Kazuya
Lee
Kuma
Leo
Dragunov

hmm, there are both law and bob tekken gods in korea—some of the top US players are law and bob players.

as for steve, the claim that there isn’t contention for god rank in korea is a fallacy. nin has outwardly stated that he doesn’t believe in deathmatches, he’d be a tekken god if he wanted to. to my understanding, rain played steve for counter-picking purposes and thusly his steve isn’t as invested as his miguel or bruce yet he was still able to achieve high levels with him. fight spirit is an emperor and was a relative-newcomer to T6:BR. we also shouldn’t discount japan—they have multiple Steve gods which were reached at early stages of the game

steve, bruce, lars, bob, bryan are my personal top 5. bob is debatable. i may switch him with DvJ

i used to think julia had top 5 potential until I learned about some of her weaknesses. her weak left tracking and reliance on 50/50s made me think otherwise.

Steve has the best tracking and best frames in the game, he has great wall carry and w! damage. You say people have weak knowledge yet you offer nothing empirical. we can’t go by card ranks and tekken crash alone.

I just love how he gives more credit to the character than the player. Bruce has more tools? lol? What the tools that gets him launched? Every time he guesses right it ends with Pokchop losing half life.

And I didn’t know we based tier lists off of Tekken Crash. The same Tekken Crash that, oh I dunno, several times that Malgu OCVed a good amount of teams including a team that RAIN was in. Malgu, a LAW player. The same Tekken Crash that, someone correct me if I’m wrong, a bear player was on there team that either came close or actually won it.

Can you please find better reasons as to why Steve, Bob, and Law are not top 3 materials cause I can think of many reasons why Steve and Law are top 3. Bob is Top 5.
