I currently have the above stick on order and I want to get some Sanwa buttons to replace the stock ones. I figured I’d also get a replacement stick as a back up when needed.
Through searches I’ve done, it seems that the stock stick, JLF-TM-8, is not available anymore. Is this correct and will the JLF-TM-8T-SK from Lizard Lick work with just qdc’s or soldering? Also, is the T6 version of the EX the same as the regular HRAP EX?
As jdm stated in another thread iirc, the difference between the T6 HRAP-EX and the original HRAP-EX is the layout and stick position. As BigEd here has stated, it comes stock with a JLF and Hori buttons. That said, if you truly want a back-up JLF, you’ll need to get the JLF-TM-8T-SK as you mentioned. There is no wire harness in the HRAP-EX, which has wires soldered from the JLF switches to the PCB.
Right, but I figured I’d get a back up stick just to have for when the stock one needs replacing. I’d like to have one on hand in case they become hard to get.
Now when I said that the JLF-TM-8 is no more, I mean JLF-TM-8 and all of its variations:
JLF-TM-8T, JLF-TM-8T-SK, JLF-TM-8S, JLF-TM-8S-SK
True that Sanwa does not offer them anymore.
But they can still be found in HRAP EX and HRAP EX SA.
And like you know, Lizard Lick also has his own JLF-TM-8 selling.
(I call it his own because he does not use the same Microswitches as original JLF-TM-8 or the one in HRAP.)
And as you have read one of my Posts, all JLF are the same.
Now, in an HRAP EX, HRAP EX SA, the JLF is JLF-TM-8T-SK.
Now, it does not matter which JLF you get, as long as it is a -TM and has a [T].
Don’t need the -SK because that is just Shaft Cover.
And that is just for looks.
Yes, the JLF-TM-8T-SK from Lizard Lick, you can use.
You will have to add .187" Quick Disconnects to the wires inside your HRAP.
Or if you do not want to do Quick Disconnect, you can just solder the wires to Microswitch.
And as Evelgest said about my earlier Post, the Tekken 6 HRAP EX is a bit different from regular HRAP EX.
The Joystick position; Tekken 6 is more spaced from the Buttons.
The Buttons; Tekken 6 have slight different layout shape.
HRAP EX.
HRAP Tekken 6.
Check out the position of Joystick.
And the slight difference in Button placement (shape, not color).
when you plug that hori stick in with tekken 6 it will know that it is a hori and it autoloads a button mapping to make it like the arcade. tekken 6 shows my MvC3 VX-V3 as a HRAP tekken edition. has a picture of your stick on the screen when your in the button mapping options. so nice of them to work with namco on that.
