So you want to play Tekken huh?
Hold your horses, this ain’t no Capcom game.
It ain’t that easy and it’s not a loose game as you’d want it to be.
A few things to note about the game:

First, you have to learn the Conventions:
Taken from Catlord’s faq
It’s not that different from SF really but it does add more technical terms in your knowledge.

2nd, Each Character has atleast a minimum of 40 moves
The juggles do get repetitive I agree but there are many moves that one character do to fight off an opponent. Your also not limited to the same combos all the time. If you watch Tekken 6 vids right now, you will see them do the most damaging combos. Probably because they just want to win.

3rd, watch my Tutorial for Tekken 5 a few years back
It’s outdated but the system is the same to a point.

Tekken is a really in-depth game. They did make it easier for people to pick up but the Advance strategy is still there. Check it out and let’ battle.

Anyways, the game is out on Oct. 27th as mentioned.
i would recommend pre-ordering.
Also, there is a Wireless arcade stick bundle that is also coming out.

The stick has been reviewed and it gets an ok for casual gaming.
Tournament, probably not.

I’ll be creating some guides for Tekken as well so stay tuned.

For now, discuss or ask questions if you are going to pick up the game.

I use a handful of characters but my main is the bear “Kuma”

This is going to be the first 3D fighting game I’ll take seriously. So stoked for this game!!

Hopefully there are enough people playing this that I can reach a level of comfort with the system through just playing a ton. Reading guides and doing training mode shit only gets you so far, which is what stopped me from ever learning DR and past Tekken games.

I’m hyped for this.
Last tekken game I played was Tag, forever ago. Then switched to Soul Calibur 2 and continued w/ Soul Cal for my Namco fighter of choice. Looking forward to getting back into Tekken tho.
Not getting the bundle. I’m just going to mod my SE instead.

Pretty excited for this game too, hopefully alot of new players can enter the scene this time around.

I loved 5, 5.1, DR. I played a bit of 6 at Playdium, Ling is so different… none of her juggles work anymore, and her 4~3, 2 seems to be different. :frowning:

Her b+2,2,2 also seems to be gone. her 2~1 and Phoenix seem to be mostly unchanged though.
I guess i’m going to have to relearn her.

Does anybody want to Play Tekken 6 along side Soul Calibur players Oct.31st? (For those not going to Hamilton for BB or KoF).

We’re might do a smaller Sogo tourney, ie Taking up 2 Tables with 2 TVs and running Games/tourney from 3-7pm.
