Tekken 6 early release?

our local gamestops got them last night, i am gona snag my copy in a few min from a local mom and pop store, they don’t care about street date

Shouldn’t that be on the back of Madden?

I’m black so I can get away with it.

you won’t get banned playing an early copy of the game. I had sc4 like a week before it was supposed to be released and didn’t get banned. Been playing T6 since yesterday, no ban. MS even said they won’t ban people who get early copies of a game. Banhammer only comes if it’s not legit.

Sadly (and you’re hearing this from somebody who works deep in software and IT), the most likely scenario was that Namco made a deal with MS to make the two identical in order to release it for the Xbox, which Namco had to do, because in the west, the Xbox had a significantly bigger user base than the PS3, and most of Tekken’s console sales are in the west.

The arcade T6 was a PS3-in-a-box. Our PS3’s have HDD’s too, so if there was any difference that would have occurred, it would only have to do with loading times.

However, I won’t lay the blame entirely with MS. Namco definitely screwed up as well.

In order to make scenario campaign + cg endings + textures + motion blur processing fit into the Xbox’s media, lowering the resolution (of the in-game textures), and the cg endings were the compromises made in order to have the long-and-worthless scenario mode.

IF it was just a PS3 exclusive, the game would have all of the above, plus the original arcade resolution. BUT…

The fact is, the game could have still had arcade-perfect resolution on BOTH systems, if Namco had only decided NOT to use up the space in the 360’s DVD format with scenario campaign.

So at the end of the day - Namco’s decision to focus on scenario campaign, instead of what Tekken is actually about, left a major dent on what would have been an otherwise classic console game.

Even if MS did ban people from playing the game before its release, couldn’t players just unplug their ethernet cable from their Xbox so they’re not signed in to Live? How would Microsoft know if you’re not even connected online?..

I think it was meant to be done to people stupid enough to get online with it before street date.

$60 retail. I can’t believe that LI Joe paid $100 when i was with him. :stuck_out_tongue:

Damn he paid $100…most places that I heard that broke the street date sold it for retail pricing.

Only paid extra $5 for mine.

thank god, cuz someone on the Hawaii forums was claiming it would happen, lol.

Yeah online seems to be a no problem for me too (on PSN).
