The ranking list contains only the highest ranked player for each character.

Speaking of ranks, the 360 ranking battle sucks online. There’s not enough players in the higher ranks and people that know how to play fighting games at the most basic of levels.

I’m not very good at this game, but it’s kind of exhausting to play someone that’s brand new to hitting buttons and then someone that’s a straight up vet at tekken, I figured it’d be a clear transition when you move up the ladder in ranks. But it’s not that way because there arent many high rankers anyway.

You clearly have to battle certain ways against the extreme highs and lows of player understandings. It’s not very fun or even engaging, to have to revert back to a mindless setting and then randomly put on the thinking cap once in a blue moon when you play someone that’s amazing, and then you never even see them again - and more than likely lose cause you couldn’t rise to the occasion in time due to not being actively engaged 25 matches prior.

And often times, I find myself just losing to any player that comes at me with every single move a character has in their movelist, simply because there’s not enough specialized character diversity within players, to actually figure anything out.

So basically what I’m trying to say is, I’m not really learning a damn thing, I’m just playing by 100% adaption on the fly and nothing more.

EDIT: Let me add something else.

I played this Xiaoyu or maybe it was a Lili, that was dressed like C.Viper. I lost the first match horrible because this player just used every single move the character had, and I don’t know what’s coming. Was lucky enough to get a runback, and in this second battle all I did was land Steve’s 112 normal hit and got a CH b+1 combo afterwards every. single. time. all. 3. rounds.

ill say it one last time, like i said before, you will learn nothing from tekken 6 online. tekken 6 online will forever keep you as a beginner. i have had maybe 2 proper 5 bar connections that felt good, and still was not comparable to offline play. people are gonna use bullshit as tactics online, that you will get use to, and it will totally fuck you offline. as of yesterday, i officially told online to kiss my ass. if your in l.a, maybe we could play if you want, since the connect might not be to bad, and at least you can get constant comp from a decent player. but at the end of the day, most of the bullshit i do online, is specifically because i can.

you probably wont run into many real good players who are constantly online with tekken because its just not beneficial for us at the end of the day. i would rather spend an hour breaking throws in training mode, then an hour beating up on scrubs who cant seem to turn off their torrents before going online. pm me if you want my gamertag, and ill jump on. aint got much to do today. my birthday, so im gonna get drunk and play marvel in my living room. lol

edit: and i will play more like i would offline, so you can get use to shit real players are gonna try to do to you, other then spam slow ass lows that would other wise get them killed offline.

why the hell are there so many bad connects in player matches too, and a lot of times it will say a 2 bar connection, and its just like a 5 bar one. its all very deceptive.

My advice is to get T6 for the PS3 if you had one. That’s the system of choice for tekken players and the majority play on PSN. And even then there isn’t alot of motivation for us to play on ranked thanks to its stupid searching system, but player matches are usually poppin.

oh wait. im playing on xbox by the way, but shikur is right. most tekken players are on ps3 from the dr days.

I’ll start off by letting you know of one thing, I want to make understood. <- sorry if this sentence comes off stern or some shit, like I’m trying to roast.

I’m not interested in being a tournament level player or putting in the time to take the game to the next level(trust this is not a scrub mindset, this is the casual mindset. If it gets there, it gets there, naturally, I’m not pushing). Because I know what that takes, and I don’t have that to give anymore, because I refuse(anyone can get to tournament level in any fighting game of choice, if they can give what’s necessary and make whatever sacrifices).

I have my own priorities, which is photography, school, and my social life. I just want to play to improve whenever I choose to play. But I’m not getting anywhere, and the means to do so is right there though.

So with that said, in my current situation travelling to play somebody in tekken offline is the last thing on the list of things to do, due to it’s inconvenience at this time because I am not dedicated. So that easily leaves out sitting in training mode for an hour, breaking throws, btw.

Furthermore, the real issue I have, is not with online play, it’s the jacked and skewed varying degrees of play/skill level, and the lack of character specific specialized players. I’m not learning shit about a character and I just get exploited every single match I’m involved.

In all honesty, if this is what the state of Tekken will remain as far as I’m concerned, I have no issues letting it go. Then I have absolutely no qualms about, selling off my 360 stick and my games(I only play 2 - vf and tekken - on my 360 out of the many I own), and could just use that money for camera supplies and equipment.

I have a ps3, but my stick is only on 360, which is why I got the 360 version of the game, even though I originally wanted the ps3 one. Money dictated this, money was already on the 360 stick.

What’s the purpose of not including your gamertags under your username like everyone else? You’ve probably already played and defeated me in game, if you’re as good as you appear to be.

^ huh. i was just inviting you online for some player matches. lol! from the way i interpreted your other post, i thought you were looking for some decent comp online. i dont include my gamertag because im a private person in general, and posting that under my username is in violation of my code of privacy. lol. i have played a few people here online in marvel, and made myself known. so i aint trying to hide so i dont get put on blast or anything. people know not to sleep. lol. thats just me. i might have played you. i have played a ton of people in marvel and a nice handful in tekken. actually, maybe only 200 matches max in tekken between random player matches and ranked, so maybe i came across you.

Oh no no, yo I am looking for decent online comp. I didn’t mean to get that twisted, I didn’t fully understand where you was coming from. It was all like you was undercover or some shit. Kind of blew my mind.

It’s cool. Personally I was just venting a lil bit of my disappointment in playing tekken 6 with alot of matches to choose from. We may have came across each other, I don’t know.

My perspective on things is just different than yours, that’s all. I don’t really have that hunger for the games like that anymore, and I felt I needed to say that so things wouldn’t go further into that direction.

If I’m still having this issue next time I play, I’ll holla at you. Thanks man.

Hell, most of us are on ps3 for the fact that the entire rest of the series is Sony territory. Gotta stick with the dudes who got you there, you know?

So, uhh about the december patch for this thing…?

Thanks for the Japanese rankings.

I don’t know what the patch is going to even include other than multiplayer SC Mode.

ugh, why cant i filter ghost data by rank. bullcrap, or im doing it wrong

I got this for the PS3 when it came out but haven’t played it much… i got discouraged by the TERRIBLE cheap bosses in the game, and then not being able to see my endings in arcade mode. I read that online sucked pre-patch (and is supposed to be at least a lil better after?) so i havent ventured online with it yet… been busy w other games. I wanna get back into this but i’m considering jumping over to the 360 instead since thats what i have decent arcade sticks for.

Are they working on any more patches for this game? It would be nice if they would make it so you can see endings via arcade mode like the PSP… could they patch that? haha i don’t wanna have to go through the stupid ass beat em up mode. The endings of course aren’t the most important factor to me in a fighting game but it would be NICE if they were available via the traditional game completion method.

Not sure why problems with the one player mode would keep you from playing a fighting game but whatever. You can open the endings by just doing the arena in SC mode btw (only 4 fights which is shorter than regular arcade mode anyway).

Yeah but you have to sit through the full scenario mode at least once before arena opens up, don’t you? Isn’t that like 3 hours at least? Or maybe i was told wrong… dunno

Would be nice if that isn’t the case though.

well if you’re THAT lazy you can just watch the ending on YouTube , there are HD ones uploaded

Not lazy, just didnt care for what little of the scenario mode i played.

Not the entire thing. I think you unlock it only a quarter of the way through or so.

The endings just get unlocked as you play through anyway. I was item farming on Roger’s stage when everything opened up.

Oh, and the bosses aren’t cheap. Azazel is easy as pie.

Ok two simple questions…

One: when is the patch coming, or has it already arrived? (my PS3 is locked as a MGO server currently and I’ve no plans to take the server offline for a few days so I can’t update Tekken).

Two: are offline ranks ever going to be not locked at 1st Dan?
