Tekken 5 stick and happ parts

I want to gut a tekken 5 stick and put in happ comp stick and buttons. I’ve allready have the microswitches soldered to the pcb so any soldering suggestions is not needed, but if anyone can provide a breakdown or link me to what I need to in order to have the happ parts fit in the tekken 5 stick would be much helpful.

I have no experience on the T5 stick but as for where to order, i just went to the happ site:

Competition Stick:
http://www.happcontrols.com/joysticks/competition_joy.htm

Convex competition buttons:
http://www.happcontrols.com/pushbuttons/5896xxl.htm

If you want concave you’ll want to get Happ-Ultimate buttons instead. Also both buttons and the stick use: .187, 18-22 gauge, sized quick disconnects. Which you can order from the happ site or just pick up at misc electronic places like radio shack.

Hope i helped :wonder:

ponyboy has happ parts, check his thread on trading outlet. The prices seem good.

I’ve got concave buttons for cheap if you happen to want them btw.

The prices on the official Happ site are not expensive either. Maybe $30 for a full set of stick/buttons, and they normally have plenty in stock.

Just a thought.

Happ will rip you off big time on the shipping.

uh… you guys read it wrong. I’m not looking to ORDER, I wrote In ORder to put the happ parts into the t5. I already ahve the parts (happ comp and comp buttons) but I was wondering if anyone have gimme a walkthrough on what I need to do to get those parts in. I heard this was a difficult mod and sanwa is much easier, but I have the those happ parts doing nothing and I odn’t really feel like paying for more parts. if anyone can provide any details it’d be much appreciated.

pm poon he’s done this before

The jab button on my stick just broke. I’ve opened my stick up and have no idea how to fix this button because everything is locked onto the face plate. Anyone have any links that can show me how to detach everything to find what is broken/replace it? I’d also want to put in new buttons…

Stop highjacking the thread.

you need a socket wrench to take off the face place because it’s tightened with nuts.

Why in the world would you put Happ parts in a Tekken 5 Stick?

Why not?

I already wrote tht I had the parts lyin around

To me it just doesn’t seem right, It’s an imitation Jap Stick, and if I was going to replace the parts, I would just put real Jap parts in it.

the happ buttons will fit after u grind the little taps for snap-in buttons. as for the comp stick i’m not sure how that works. i know someone else did it. do a search for “tekken 5 eb $30…” something like that. i forgot whose stick it was but it was definitly freakin suh-weet!

yeah really you know, putting in happ parts into a t5 stick is like sodomizing… a fork.

But more constructively, if you want to put happ parts inside, your biggest trouble will be the stick. For the buttons, you can just grind away the tabs and pop the buttons in (or screw). The joystick is a different story. You’ll need to first take off entirely the metal thingy that holds the hori stock stick. This can be done with a dremel or a nice drill if you happen to have either (the drill method is easier, but my drill bits sucked so I spent like an hour dremeling. You’ll want to drill the 4 burnt areas because that’s where the two pieces are welded or soldered together). Then, you need to drill holes to mount the happ stick, you’ll need a countersink to balance the screws and have them come from the top, through the metal, and then into the four holes in the happ. The screws will be visible unless you put art/acrylic/w/e on top of the metal.

You know, just don’t fucking mod it with a happ stick okay.

I’m a victim

<—Agrees with chippermonky. But if you really want to, it’s possible.

it’s cheaper than modding a MAS, it’s prettier than a pelican, and it only requires three tools (one if you own a dremel). put it in perspective people. god forbid someone actually still prefers the weight of happ parts.

to put in perspective though, I only REALLY need to change the buttons for now to happ since it’s the buttons that are broken and simply switch out the microswitches on the hori stock stick because I’ve already have my own microswitches already soldered onto a pcb, but thanks alot for the tip guys.
