I just read DR won’t have online play, that sucks. It better have a practice mode. They could have easily released DR on the PS2, but I guess Sony is forcing them to release it on their other consoles.
dr online probably wouldnt get that much attention because of the lag issues. then again you never know. i would play it online just for kicks. i dont think there gonna have your practice mode. it was not announced as a mode in the downloadable version to come out.
anyways. its still a gay idea. fuck namco
It would be FOOLISH for them to not include the staples; VS, practice, options, etc. have never been advertised in previous releases, they’re understood to be there regardless.
And in regards to lag, that’s BS, a lot of people will get a game just for the online option, regardless of if it’s good or not, as long as other idiots are willing to play to get their stats that will ultimately end up being worthless because dropping for some reason doesn’t show up as an auto loss when done near the end of a match.
Hey, everyone … I’m lookiing for any T5: DR experts (preferably well-known) that’s willing to get on the radio to discuss this latest move by Namco and what it means for the Tekken Community. I wanted to ask this on the TZ boards, but my account hasn’t been activated yet.
If you’re interested or know someone who can do it, hit me up via PM or on the radio thread.
yeah, but have previous releases been downloadable files off of the freaking internet. no. the file would be to freaking big, and besides that, its blatantly obvious that this is just some type of test run for namco and the ps3. plus probably a little somethin somethin for those hardcore dr players who spent cash on a ps3. if namco wanted to make cash off of this, they would have released it on ps2 with all options, plus more. this is pretty much a test run, and a little here you go, from namco. well its not free, but its what, 15 dollars max. not bad for half a game. it would not be foolish, because this isnt meant to be some mega worldwide release of dr. its a japanese release of a downloadable version of dr. big difference
true. alot of people would get it for the online option alone, because of their hopes to play top japanese, and korean tekken players, but lag is an issue for hardcore gamers, and i for one would enjoy it for just for kicks. even when shit is running smooth its still not perfect and can throw off the frames of moves. i personally dont wanna get used to doing online ewgf, just to play offline and have my timing messed up.
Above all else, I just want a release date. And I want that to be sooner than later.
EDIT: My bad, they updated it now, the pics are 1080p and they mention it too at impress gamewatch.
The current projected size for the game is 800MB, so take that as you will. Wasn’t the UMD’s capacity somewhere around 1GB+?
I was actually talking about the other side of the equation, the shitty players who won’t care as long as someone is on the other side of the connection(a.k.a Halo Kiddies), because you’d figure that the community wouldn’t shoot itself in the foot and not support it if it were there.
Namco should of made this game for the PS2…Dumb move Sony/Namco
I don’t think it was Namco’s call, but SONY. I wonder if Namco will just end up selling all their arcade hits on the PS3 via DL?
Tekken DR, VF5, Smash (hot wii mote action), and GG Slash all at Evo07?
I am thinking this Namco’s chance to get to know the PS3 hardware before they really begin to commit work on T6. Kind of like how Sony was trying to do Gran Turismo HD, before they realized how idiotic it is to remake a game and sell it off piece by piece.
It will be interesting to see what Namco does with this and who else follows them on the Sony store band wagon.
I don’t know about that, I remember hearing all the news sites reporting Sony secured the rights for SC3 exclusively on the PS2, so you’d think the same thing would be reported about this game, right?
I can’t tell you if it was Namco’s or Sony’s call, but I’m all but convinced T6 will show up at home no earlier than 2008, and it is a significant break in tradition for a PS# console to wait so long for a Tekken game. DR will be PS3’s Tekken 1 and Tekken Tag (near-launch fighters).
And PS3 needs a Tekken game more than the PS2, what with 3 Tekken titles already in its library. So I think DR landed on the right platform.
DR will be available for download on the 18th of January apparently.
Are you sure? Where did you hear that?
Seriously…
lol, ps3 and namco haters lol. i know the majority of you will end up buying a ps3 in a year or two. this happened with every sony gen console. people are always against the price and all that jazz. but you just wait, the problem is that most triple A japanese developers will be exclusive to sony and thats not gonna change. hardcore fans don’t like thiiiis that love wii or xbox. lol besides, isn’t nintendo wii doing the same thing with downloadable roms? word up, ps2 was sooo fucking good, no joke. and maybe ps3 will be even better, you never know.
