I wouldn’t expect to see T6 until 2008, Fall 2007 at the very earliest (which would mean that they skipped the arcade run, which if SC3 is anything to go by, would by default make it the worst, most bug-ridden Tekken of the series). DR at home would have at least a year head start, which is a perfect run for a downloadable game.
You need to read it further. It might hit stands as well and more then likely T6 will be pushed further…
Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection is said to be a downloadable game and the release date and pricing is yet to be determined. The news snippet also mentioned that the game will feature high definition graphics and a playable Jinpachi.
fucking bullshit. why not just fucking release it for ps2. im not paying 600 dollars for a ps3, just to play some fucking tekken dr. shit isnt even ps3 worthy. i dont give a fuck about hd graphics for that game. whatever
Online Tekken??? Only if it’s like super lag free. I can’t imagine the look on my face over tons of botched juggles due to lag and not ever being able to get up due to lag.
In any event…yeah this really should have been released on PS2 a la VF4 Evo. Instead Sony’s created a whole debacle over which version of T5 to play competitively.
Why is anyone complaining? If it’s going to be a straight port (gameplay wise), with Jinpachi playable (ok he’s lame but eh), with some modes and maybe a tag mode (hopes there will be), then it’s all good.
For people blaming Sony about this, you guys should be blaming Namco for just porting the game to the PSP instead of the PS2.
Well it seems like these days you might as well blame Sony for anything. They should have brought the idea up like “hmmm…maybe this game would sell on the PS2 also…”. Oh well…guess I gotta spend 600 bucks to play a game that should have came out a long time ago.
Shit shouldve just been released for PS2 like Liberty Stories was(PSP games to PS2), then just let the backwards compatibility take care of everything.
You’d get MORE sales with it on PS2 than any other Sony hardware.
I think, I might be proven wrong by sales data, but during the announcement of DR to PSP, PSP sales were lagging (not horrible, but not to where Sony thought it would be).
Tekken is a “killer app” with a nice install base, regardless of console. I think Namco/Sony decided on PSP to move more PSP units. Again, just speculation/rumors.
Well i feel you on how it was probably put to PSP to move PSP sales, but a game like Liberty Stories has the same, if not more clout IMO. And it was released for PSP then like a year or so later it was released for PS2. DR has not. And there’s more than enough GTA games aswell. Also, isn’t Liberty Stories real generic in comparison to the regular series? I haven’t played it so I don’t know.
I mean, I can see why the games were released the way they were, but when I look at Liberty Stories that goes out the window.
And if PSP is REALLY a PS2 portable, putting DR on PS2 would possibly take much less effort than to put it on PS3. It could just be a game that’s released on PS2, and then when put on PS3(through backwards compatibility) have a patch to high res everything, make it tag, etc. and that data can remain on the PS3 HD. You’d get the same effect, but with more buyer base.
