Tekken 1-3, Soul Edge and Soul Calibur tiers?

well i heard from one of the best players in the u.s. who actually played during tekken 3

and honestly id give it to him, 1truking

I could say the same thing about Bronson. And I did play T3

bronson is one of the best players now, and i remember him starting with ttt, not t3.

im talking actually playing t3 in the biggest tournaments across the country during the time when there wasnt even a ttt to play.

t5 nina can be ssl all day does that make her shitty?, just bc t3 ogre1 cant track a certain way WELL doesnt mean he doesnt have the means to be tops.

bronson.

well im not saying hes shitty but im saying if what 1truking says about ogre is true that he wouldnt be an undisputable #1

i dont play t3 though and ive never played it seriously, so i dont know the game indepth like which sidestep vs which moves and other shit

ogre1 = #1

and this is why we’re playing for money now

:tup:

Kazuya is top tier in all of those games, just cause he’s so fuckin evil. I took a liken to him for that reason, first time that I could think of in a fighting game that the main character was fucked up in the head. Come here son…come here father…let me give you a hug, right before I gut punch you into Spinning Electric God Fist your asses off a fuckin cliff. I always thought that SF would be more interesting if Ryu turned evil and just killed off all the other characters, and SF4 would be about Ryu just standing there bored. What do you want from me? It’s like 4 am and I have to get ready for work.

As far as tiers I don’t know about Soul Calibur that much, but in Tekken 2 (going by the strat guide): Top teir was Law, Nina, Paul, Kazuya

Tekken 3: Ogre (not true ogre), Law, Paul, Nina, Bryan, Jin (I don’t remember the exact number listing, but I’m trying to remember who was in top ten)

One good thing about Tekken, is that it seemed very easy to master more then one character. I never had a problem developing my skills with like 10 characters. Personal favorites being Jin, Kazuya, Heichachi, Yoshimitsu, Bryan, Law, Paul, Nina, Baek or Hwoarang

Koreans ranked Law 1. Simply cause of Standing 4 which had the highest priority in the game besides the fact that Law took an insane amount of life in that game. Kinda glad that namco went back to its old roots in Tekken 5 making him top again. Not number 1 but top 5.

im sure yoshis df+4 had more priority than laws 4.

Tekken3, Ling can run rings around everyone…and she does good damage and has quite a few mean setups. Not to mention CH launching strings. :slight_smile: I’d consider her the best if she plays at her best.

Ogre can give you couple licks and that’s you off. Easier to use and to do damage with. You’ll be lucky to actually get the guaranteed shit though, besides WM which can happen at almost any time in a match.

Ling = Brought In.

So…Paul is ass then? I refuse to believe someone with counters, a high/low game, phoenix smash to be weak.

Reversals suck past tekken 2 and phoenix smasher does not make paul good.

t3, didnt hei have the old reversal kick notations? where u can hide it in dashes? wouldnt that make any 4 setup with law only o k? i dont recall thou.

anyone can explain a king in t1?

Had many things to do with having King’s df+1, Mishima’s Godfists, and the best throws in the game(40% off a right throw?)…

that and df+1 on block was roughly +44

so could he hit kaz lvl of damage combos? i never played a king in t1 so i dunno how hhis wgf worked exactly -_- but i am curious

I always prefered armor king. He basically had the same moves as king, combos, but he didn’t have link throws (or not as many), which in my book is a good thing being people can break that shit. Kazuya always owned the bigger characters for fuckin free…all you had to do was a stun gut punch (forgot the name of it), right in the mother fuckin unblockable. Shit would hit as soon as the bitches hit the floor. All this talk of Tekken is making me want to buy a PS2 again (I gave mine away to my older brother). People say Steve is broke as hell in Tekken 5, hell if I know if it’s true, but he has some kind of 100% combo that is very easy or something to that effect. So broke that some wanted him to be banned from tournament, or something like that. For that and Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution.

Everyone’s talking about A.King in Tekken 1, but I seem to remember that the extra characters were only playable in the PS1 version. Am I dreaming?

I only use nightmare and siggy I’ve been getting decent results but I’ve only seen one really good taki player, I must pick her up… show those sc nerds who’s boss
