That’s pretty cool srwax! I bet it’d work with Ryu and Morrigan too, I’ll post it up on Friday
how much damage does it do if you skip baroque part and go straight to super right after the second shamshir?
With like 30% baroque, almost anything you do with Blade will kill your opponent effortlessly as he’s part of “warranted damage or your money back team” ehehe…
IMO, wasting some red life just to shamshir into super does not seem the best use you can give to your baroque while playing Blade.
EDIT: also, if you have tons of red life, doing shamshir into baroque and then, 5A 5B, 3C, super jump, AA, double jump, AB, 236A, Crash Intrude isn’t hard and will do a LOT more damage
you can also try to change the baroque for the first shamshir and them call karas in the second one, after the baroque, to use the damage boost from it on more hits… this should up the damage if you have more than 10% baroque and maybe keep it tha same or a bit less for 10% baroque or less.
I’m seriously going to make all my air combos be Nitro’s combo lol, too much damage for a little bit of red life is so good! Now I just need to learn the Zero match up …ugh
Been a while since I’ve posted in here, but I’m back with good news: I finally have someone to play against in person, and I’m definitely, definitely getting a great feel for how the game works. Tekkaman Blade is just a freakin’ beast! I’ve pretty much settled on Ryu as my partner (yeah, yeah, scrubby – I know lol), as his assist is just too damn good to pass up. Plus, he’s soooooo good as a point character that even if/when I lose Tekkaman I can still contend with most of the cast. Wow… this game is freakin’ crack!!! I just had a 7-hour, in-person session, and it was more fun than I’ve had with SFIV in months!!!
lol I had some DBZ like sessions a few days ago and it was awesome! I rather have Ippatsuman on my team instead of Ryu but hey, at least you don’t have to baroque when doing the loop with Blade/Ryu. We actually need more people posting back on Blade, it seems like the SRK boards for TvC are dying so I had to go off to GameFAQs.
Hey, Xaolin, I still REALLY want to play against you. I have class tonight from 6:30 - 9:30 (central time). Would you wanna jam for a while after I get done? I only live about 4 minutes from school, so I’ll be home and ready to play by around 9:45, 9:50. Just send me a PM and lemme know!
Also, I’m hyped to see what you’ve come up with using Ippat.
10 Pm for you is 11 Pm for me so if I’m still game by then I’ll send you a PM, otherwise we’ll have to work out a weekend time cuz I have school early in the morning… stupid chem class
Because I’m not to the point where I am able to do very flashy and ridiculous BBQ and Assist combos I do very simple ones, that I feel do a fair amount of damage. Below Are the ones I use. They’re basically 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C Resets [Right terminology?] Either using Baroque, Partner Assists [All Ryu], or both. Partner Assist Combos are Highlighted in Red.
5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, BBQ, 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, 3C, s.j. 5A, 5A, 5B, 5B, jump, 2C, Katzbalger, 5B, 3C, [Pause] s.j. 5B, 5B, Crash Intrude ~55 Hits [31.254 Billion Damage]
5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, BBQ, 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, 3C, s.j. 5A, 5A, 5B, 5B, jump, 2C, Katzbalger, Omnidirectional Super Voltekka ~58 Hits [36.807 Billion Damage]
5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, P [This is very tight. Do almost immediately after 5C], 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, 3C, s.j. 5A, 5A, 5B, 5B, jump, 2C, Katzbalger, 5B, 3C, [Pause] s.j. 5B, 5B, Crash Intrude ~56 Hits [32.965 Billion Damage]
[Unless my Timing is off, the combo above can only be leading into a corner, or in a corner, otherwise Ryu’s fireball pushes them too far out.]
5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, P [This is very tight. Do almost immediately after 5C], Falchion, 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, 3C, s.j. 5A, 5A, 5B, 5B, jump, 2C, Katzbalger, 5B, 3C, [Pause] s.j. 5B, 5B, Crash Intrude ~58 Hits [33.035 Billion Damage]
[Unless my Timing is off, the above combo cannot cannot be performed in the corner.]
5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, BBQ, 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, P, 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, 3C, s.j. 5A, 5A, 5B, 5B, jump, 2C, Katzbalger, 5B, 3C, [Pause] s.j. 5B, 5B, Crash Intrude ~60 Hits [35.015 Billion Damage]
The mean one:
5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, BBQ, 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, P, 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, 3C, s.j. 5A, 5A, 5B, 5B, jump, 2C, Katzbalger, Super Omnidirectional Voltekka ~63 Hits [39.883 Billion Damage]
Baroque was set to 10% for all combos
These combos are very general, basic, and tweak-able to swap diffeernt things like Shashmir, etc. Hope I helped, if only just a little.
If you do combo 20 and stick rock’s assist in at the end you can combo into the lvl 3. It’s good for about 43 bil. Probably works with other assists too.
Like this
5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, launch, S.j, 5A, 5A, 5B, 5B, dj.2C, C ~ Katzbalger, 5B, launch (pause), S.j, 5B, 5B, dj.2C, C ~ Shamshir, P, Omnidirectional super
That’s pretty good, I don’t use Volnutt so I don’t experiment with him but that gives some major damage combined with Volnutt’s strong run away game, this team could be very annoying lol
These combos are very basic indeed lol, but basics are good. Thanks for posting them but I believe some have already been posted in the OP. I really wanna update the thread but I just don’t have the time between all my college work and other things. ugh It will be posted and you will be credited, just not today lol
Okay, everyone: I have a serious question. I’m pretty good friends with Keits who also happens to play Blade, and he and I seem to have different opinions as to which of Blade’s BnB combos is more effective:
- (Ground combo) -> j. A, A, B, B -> jump-cancel -> 2C -> C Katzbalger -> (corner combo of choice)
-OR-
- (Ground combo) -> j. A, A, B, B -> jump-cancel -> 2C -> C Shamshir -> BAROQUE -> (combo of choice)
Now… I always default to the first combo, whereas Keits prefers the second one. He claims that the first combo, which I always thought was a fairly easy-to-land BnB, is “super-unreliable” at about 20 seconds in:
I wasn’t able to tell if he said unreliable for him or just unreliable in general, because that does make a difference. I’m just wondering if there really is a benefit to using the second combo rather than the first. I seem to land the first one about 97% of the time, and the damage is better if the full combo connects and the opponent can’t Mega Crash. The only thing that I could think of we be that you can BAROQUE after Shamshir and potentially do a lot of damage, but if you just let Katzbalger take the opponent to the corner you have a free combo with OR without BAROQUE.
Don’t get me wrong: I’m, by no means, trying to say that Keits is wrong, nor am I trying to pull some childish “call-him-out” nonsense. I have a tremendous amount of respect for that guy, and the only reason I provided a video clip is so that there can be none of that “he, said, he said” crap. I did it out of courtesy, because I feel that he wouldn’t record and post up anything that he didn’t want himself being quoted on. I’m simply trying to learn, because if, for some reason, there’s a better combo I could be using, then perhaps it’s worth my consideration. I just wanted feedback from others that have been in the same boat with me. Thanks, guys, and thank you, Keits, for the amazing archive of footage; I’ve learned a lot from watching it!
Its unreliable for me, for sure. If you can get it thats great. Honestly, you will almost always have BBQ and shouldnt be afraid to use it. Optimally, you want to hit your wall carry and two relaunches, but I dont really have that down at all. Im doing the easier combo and trying to get to my super before they can burst to ensure the extra damage AND following mixup.
I just did some testing (edit!) and found that its really the hitstun deterioration that is killing my combos after the wallbounce. If I dont have bbq, i can get about 4k more out of my combos with this, but the fact is that its 100 times easier to drop this combo than my more basic version. Remember, you played Urien, you have execution skills. My execution has always been weaker.
^ I completely understand, dude. That’s exactly why I was asking. I just wanted to make sure that I had actually been practicing combos that were worthwhile. Thanks for posting back so soon!
@Both Aegis Neglector and Keits: If you want to define “effective” in terms of damage, for combo #1 using a combo of my choice I managed at best a 33 billion combo. For #2 using a combo of my choice I managed a 41 billion combo. [Note* combo #2 used 10% red life]
Combo #2 is definitely harder to do than the very basic combo #1 because you have to time many parts right like C~Shamshir, BBQ, 5B, launch. Even harder to do if you try it online no matter how lagless you think the connection is so I’d stick with combo #1 for online.
@Keits: I usually prefer to do a long combo to help them burst if they’re only going to have two bars. That makes it easier for Blade to move around without having to worry about a Mega crash or a pesky super.
I got the wall-carry combo down better in my play session today. It really isnt as reliable as the mashy-C combos because it doesnt change at all based on opponent’s size, but if you dont have baroque, yes, the wall carry combo can get you more damage for sure. as long as you are hitting for 30k+ every time, i dont think you have to worry too much.
Don’t really have anything new to add right now, but I got around to re-recording some of the combos I had previously recorded, this time at decent quality rather than with a camera.

You can’t really say that when you’ve got completely revised combos from the previous ones you posted including a revised semi-infinite that doesn’t require Ryu (which I don’t use so good for me lol).
Can you list the notations for the combos you used in the video, I kind of got a picture of what it looks like but I don’t want to pause that video frame by frame. Good work on getting better quality, it looked really good.
Attention everybody! Is there anyone who can help me update this thread? There’s not that many changes that need to be made but I really don’t have the time and I’d like it if someone could help me out. Just send me a PM if you can and I’ll explain things to you. Thanks
Do me a favor, this may sound really mean or out the way, but re-record those combos, with Ryu at 0 bars. Cause I need to know at what point to stop to the combo so I can bait that megacrash.
Is this video just showing off or actual viability?
Actually, these combos are very viable to do in a real (offline) match. I’ve done quite a few before online but they were at 0 bars and they almost got to 2. Sometimes people don’t even MC it because it’s kinda hopeless when they’re about to die from one combo. If they switch out badly you can just repeat the combo on their newly switched character with them having 0 bars.
@Isu: In addition to my previous request, could you please give some detailed instructions on how you do the corner loop. I’m not sure if it’s my timing but I manage to A ~ Baselard in the air, drop 5B, and start up 5B on the ground (it hits), but when I start 5C the combo counter resets. This is where I need the most help on.
Thanks again for contributing!
