Well, if Blade is really low on life and your other char is also good on point, then I can see switching Blade out to be useful. Or if your other char has a better matchup against the opponent’s point char.
To add to ShinsoBEAM’s post, j.AAB dj.2C [2]8C is the same thing I’ve been using after VAR-ing in Blade, too. The timing really is especially lenient. Leads to about the same damage as if Blade had started the combo, I find.
@ both of the above posts: Yeah, that’s definitely true. Xaolin, I use Cross-Over Counters a lot more than most of my friends in casuals. They REEEEEALLY under-appreciate the value of those things! Plus, like you said, lately I’ve been finding some really tricky uses for Blade’s assist – namely, in Ryu corner juggles.
Hmm…
Maybe I should work on stepping my Ryu game up. I think I might be a little reluctant to use him because I’ve been so dependent on Blade. Back to the lab, I guess.
I 90% sure I can never get j.2C ~ katz to work on Roll/megaman, and I have problems getting it on zero still…
By PP I am to used to other games I meant 2 attack buttons so 236AT+AT.
It really depends why I would want to have yatter-2 on point instead while T-blade is good on point so is yatter-2, especially on wakeup. Health/who I am fighting/if I ended the combo in a corner, also come into play. But normally if I got Baroque on Yatter-2 Im going to switch out that mixup is invaluable, and if they block it, T-blade assist->yatter-2 robot super, now I get about 10 seconds of solid pressure.
Yatter-2 combo to Varing to T-blade does more damage then a simple T-blade combo because of the way variable effects proation.
Heres my wall combo want to claim it before anyone else does >_> TekkamanBlade/Polymor
About j.C getting beat by j.A my friend Bum163 always beats out my j.C with his j.A using alex… either that move has a lotta priority or j.A really do beat out j.C’s >.<
So yeah, Blade’s air combos are apparently uber useless online with any type of lag even if it’s minimal and all Blade users I’ve noticed spam falchion like they’re pros for being able to hit someone who’s block isn’t registering online and apparently another thing to note is online + lag + Falchion = MAJOR BLOCKSTUN. You can’t even punish the falchion anymore because it’s gotten that bad.
It’s a sad thing that there’s no gaming scene around me and so I have to turn to the internet for matches =( Good thing I’ve got a backup team Ippatsu/Poly
I’ve lost to that against a user in free battle. I was so pissed off I almost ragequit the match cause that was easily the most bullshit thing i’ve ever come across online.
I’m with you there for the lack of a gaming scene. I also have to rely for online for matches. Thankfully i’ve found people to fight who actually have skill and don’t use bitch tactics even when there is lag.
… 3C ^ (wait until opponent at apex of launch) j.A (short-delay) j.B dj.2C [2]8C …
This combo works on Roll/Megaman/VJoe as well, but the timing is different compared to the other characters: I have to do the j.A earlier or else the j.2C whiffs. Fortunately, the window for connecting j.2C [2]8C feels the same – or possibly bigger – compared to the rest of the cast.
You can try this as an alternative to j.AABB against those characters.
I got so pissed off after a guy did this to me online that I literally threw my fightstick out of rage. There’s literally nothing you can do once they get you in there supposed Falchion vortex. Falchion is supposed to be the easiest thing to punish and after a few times seeing them you can just stick out your foot and they’ll fall into it but not online where it’s the most godlike move in all of creation.
Good thing I get to play with good people on the Capcom Unity chatroom or else I would quit the game and wait out for SSF4.
I don’t think that would work since Ken would just go off the screen as soon as Blade got DHC’d in. It works with Zero cause as long as he slams the ground, Rekkoha is coming down regardless.
It most likely does as Ken will drag them across the screen so it’ll be two supers helping each other out. The only problem is, there really is no way to hit confirm Rekkoha DHC into Eagle Rush.
Same goes for Blade, if you did it with Blade you’d have to land an anti air Voltekka, DHC into Rekkoha after they enter knockdown animation, and then completely whiff a Crash Intrude for a total of three meters.
Wasting meters with Zero on your team isn’t really a problem since Zero is basically a battery for your meter. The best thing I can think of is that this is absolutely free damage where they won’t be able to burst as soon as you land that Voltekka.
Hey guys I have just received my Hauppage HD PVR and will be able to record video. I’m currently testing my video quality and youtube quality and will probably start my combo montage for Blade during the weekend. I’ll try to capture a great deal of training mode combos and then move on to actual fight combos. Hopefully this project turns out big. I’ll edit this post later with a test video I’ve uploaded today so you guys can tell me how it looks.

Somebody tell me if that looks good in 720p and I’ll make my montage out of it, that’s just a test match, we both weren’t warmed up yet.
Something to experiment with. After a jump 2C do Crash Intrude and VHC. Blade will dash under the opponent and recover quickly and depending on your partner, you can combo after their VHC hyper.
I do this with Blade/Tekkaman with awesome results. Because Tekkaman’s Voltekka pushes all the way across the screen you can start comboing in the corner while the voltekka is still active because Blade already recovered from his super.
Interesting, I’ll try it out tomorrow but I’m seriously reconsidering changing my mains to Polymar/Ippatsuman as I’ve been playing them for about 2-3 weeks now and feel more solid with them.
