Just watched the first movie on Youtube…damn,it wasn’t half bad even at this age. The second one, while it still holds a place in my heart was…WTF great…LOL
The one thing I didn’t like about the first turtles movie was that Leonardo didn’t have any good fight scenes. He had good speaking scenes but that’s it. In part two, his fight scenes were much better. The third movie’s premise was good but the execution of the movie wasn’t.

Uh yeah it was. Outside of the “Fast Forward” arc which shouldn’t have happened. The overall show was damn good.
Not saying it was not good, but to claim it destroys the original so much? No, it wasn’t THAT good.
It destroys the original is every single way. Yeah the original had its moments but it doesn’t hold up.
Your opinion good sir. Both were made in pretty different eras as well, with different 'toon standards.
Honestly besides the first season and a few random episodes I can’t watch the old show at all.

I remember making a thread 3 years about Michael bay directing a TMNT movie, i didn’t realize that i made a prophesy. We will see leonardo coming towards shredder holding two american flags while massive explosions going off around him.
The newer show was good if they never made shredder into an alien it would have epbeen a classic IMO
When I was a kid I had trouble watching the series outside of the first 5 pilot episodes (I can’t remember of they still hold up today)
I can’t say honestly but if the show was more like that I would have a better opinion.
Things I liked about 1st season
1)Animation by toei .the designs had the american comic with some anime influence ala g1 transformers

leos voice was deeper and more authoritative. He wasn’t as sanctimonious too.

there were some decent action and fighting with weapons. Turtles vs the crazy robots in technodrome and splinter vs shredder. Turtles vs foot soldiers etc
4 I kinda liked how the turtles wanted to return splinter to human form and revenge aspect seeing as how the whole tang shen oroku nagi revenge subplot was taken out in the cartoon

That TMNT crossover was brilliant because it illustrated how cheesy the 80s TMNT was. And how hardcore the comic book turtles were.

The official TMNT website actually hosted full issues of the Mirage series, but they were taken down after Viacom bought the IP. So now, I dunno, other than going the ‘arrr matey’ route.
