Man, I don’t know about all your corny motherfuckers, but Bad Boys II and The Rock was DAT SHIT.
Hate the game.

That’s pretty much what I thought when I heard the news. Their origin doesn’t really bother me ( aside from the fact that they aren’t mutant turtles anymore) it is Bay’s involvement. I expect the film to focus on some nerdy boy going through college and the Turtles to shift from hiding to being government dogs.

I’d die laughing if Bay referenced this.
All I know is… shit is gonna get blown up. One screen and off screen.
Don’t agree with Alien Ninja Turtles at all, no matter who’s idea it is, or which director is behind it.
I find this news most disappointing as it follows the now debunked rumor that the Arkham Asylum/City crew were going to be behind the next TMNT game.
I would be a rich man everytime i read someone say “OMG Bay is sodomizing my chilldhood”…lol. GTFO. Outside of the first movie, the 2003 show, and the Mirage comic, everything else involving TMNT was a joke. Everybody is quick to jump on Bay like he isn’t a competent director when he is. Look out of the Transformers trilogy, 1 and 3 were objectively good. 2 was ‘meh’ and had many problems. So its not like he isn’t capable of doing right by TMNT. We don’t have a script so we don’t know how he’s going about the alien thing. If he can someone work in the TCIR/Utrom angle to it then that’ll be good.
No way, the second movie was pretty decent and had its cool moments.
And when you say this are you also condemning the cartoon(s) and games?
I think he just means story wise.
Have you actually seen this movie since you were in elementary school?
Oh how I miss early 90’s Anime…
I’m going to pretend like I’m not outraged and try to remain reasonable until I see some actualmaterial. Also Unreallystic’s post talked a little sense into me.
My two biggest things as a kid were TMNT and Scooby Doo. We’ve seen how Scooby Doo translated to film. :bluu: I lived and still enjoy my OG Scooby. This movie could be great, or could be absolute crap. I’ll live and still have my OG Turtles.
Was that Sam Rockwell passing out cigarettes?
Also, that is what the internet looks like. A mixture between Hackers, Foot Clan Hideout, that one place in Double Dragon, and the Lost Boys island from Hook.
I have the OG comics actually (as a kid couldn’t figure out black blood…and for so reason I remember a robot couch)
I don’t like Bay as a director where a backstory is involved. Someone mentioned Bad Boys and The Rock; both great action films, but NO back story. TMNT has a backstory as does TF. IMO he put NO thought into that and went for the action/humor and at some point, complete non-sense from a filming aspect.
Yeah it was.
Yes. Of coarse it does not live up to the high bar set by the first, and a lot of the jokes & cheese have not aged well but its still a decent turtle flick. In a way it captures the goofier, cartoony style of the 80’s show better than the first movie does.
Edit: The Ninja rap scene is a bit much though lol.
The first movie can be more like the comic’s direct representation.
The 3rd however? blehh. I think everyone can agree its forgettable.
1st movie: Great
2nd movie: Decent, rough around the edges, but decent.
3rd movie: terrible
And yet again i have to reiterate, he isn’t directing this only producing. Liebesman is the director of this movie.
i hope it’s like the anime version of tmnt and they get fucking transformation powers and robots and shit.
Hmm maybe the guy from King of Queens could play the robot that Krang is in…
and I want Shredder horrible disconfigured such that they can use Uncle Phil to do the voice overs.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a more “serious” take on Power Rangers. Give it a more serious story, etc. I could see it being good.
I don’t think you want to see Power Rangers “too” serious. I mean Time Force, Lightspeed Rescue, In Space, and RPM was as serious as you’re gonna get.
