I just don’t like how over the top it looks. Shredder looks like a parody, and the way he shoots those swords and then they come back? EH. Splinter matrix dodging ninja stars, tons of slow mo, lots of over the top camera angles and spins. Donnie throws a dude through the window of a high speed train?
It’s less about it being the turtles and more about it being the kind of film making I am super fuckin bored with.
And Donnie looks dumb as fuck with those glasses, they seriously need to go. Kinda dig Mikey havin what look like Black Fly sunglasses tho.
C’mon man…while they’re playing on the worn-out trope of people with high intelligence having visual impairments, they can’t exactly waltz into Lenscrafters and get some designer sunglasses that are real and will be sold as movie merchandise/replicas for like 500 bucks a pair like they did for Cyclops in the X-men movies. Donnie made the best of a bad situation. That’s pretty realistic.

Shredder, looks to be ‘Shredder’ and not 'white guy. This is good. His fighting style seems more robotic - no beuno. Shredder needs to be on that Bruce Lee shit, he should be terrifying with just a sword. THAT is a turn off to me.
The looks of the turtles I like 9000 times better. You can truly see ‘differences’ between them now besides ‘palette swap’. I like Donnie’s glasses, he’s had them before as something he just puts on in the lab, so I’ve got no quarrel with him just wearing them. Raphael looks swole as shit…good - he’s the bruiser officially. Leo looks war ready shrug not a leo fan and Mikey seems himself, though I’m not sold on the skateboard. I understand needing that to tie them in with 80s/90s part of the franchise, but it does feel ‘dated’ even with rockets and shit.
April is a tragedy. I’m not even trying to throw shade at what’s her face, but her ‘acting’ already is turning me off. I’m hoping she is either minimal, or does a better job in the actual movie, but as it stands now, I hope 5 minutes in she gets covered in ooze and is computer generated for the rest of the movie.
Splinter? Looks iaght. His impact physically is minimal, he looks the part has the size of the part…I’m not in love with the voicing, but I’m not complaining.

Im going off what I wanna see lmao. But I would atleast for now can only compare this to the nick cartoon. Which is weird because I would assume if a movie were to be made that it would be more based off that. But then again. This film has been in the works before thay nicktoon dropped

And we’re probably gonna get the Foot Clan in the movie as a Stealthy group of PMCs. Don’t get me wrong some stuff rubs me wrong Mainly APril but shit isn’t that radical a change really or shocking that some aspects are different.
None of that changes that they look fucking terrible. He never needed glasses before, but now he has them and they look bad. REALLY bad. Just all there is too it. They added something to him that he didn’t have before (except maybe in the lab) and it looks awful. You can make all the excuses and explanations for it you want, that’s fine, they still look terrible.
