They couldn’t keep the shredder Japanese or at least asian? It’s big part of his character lol!
I know it’s hard to find someone as badass as the original movie, but can we at least try?
i wonder if he will just be the voice and not the actor on screen. i think we all kinda jumped the gun and assumed he was doing both. but no ninja turtles movie has the shredder’s voice and appearance been the same person.
man listening to Cross Examination’s intro for Menace II Soberity got me even more annoyed over this. They sample Shredder’s rooftop encoutner from the first movie, shit is the ebst.
For a guy who was in the original comic books all of 5 minutes, Shredder gets TONS of shine in almost all TMNT media. Fuck outta here with that nonsense.
The main thing that’s alien around here is michael bay’s concept of directing. The fuck is he thinking?

And how the hell are they going to cast some 56 year old washed up looking guy as the Shredder? Last i checked, the shredder is supposed to be a Ninja overlord and overall badass. I just can’t see that guy taking on ANY of the turtles, and not dieing horribly.
Has to be a joke. Wait, is this movie going to be live-action of CGI? Damn i’m so out of the loop. Was hoping we’d see a return to live-action turtles flick though.

I love hearing all you nerds whining about the yellow Jumpsuit. This isn’t the 80s, ya geeks! Do you really want to see some chick walking around in a big bird yellow jumpsuit with white go-go boots on the big screen? I sure as hell don’t.
Also, big props for one of you remembering that the original April O’neil was black. I could only imagine the Nerd shitstorm that would erupt if they cast april back to her ethnic roots.
By the way, finding pics of black April was surprisingly more difficult than I thought it would be.

I remember buying the Mirage adaptation of TMNT1 (more gritty/violent than the movie, Tatsu snaps the neck of that one Foot rookie he beat up in the movie). The comic was in color and April was black-haired with them DSLs.
Laird wanted April to be black at first but her name was April O’Neil so him and Eastman agreed to play up the Irish angle (before the cartoon deal).

lol. Those saying its “too 80’s” and wouldn’t work in a new live-action flick just don’t have much of an imagination. I’m sure they could find a way to modernize it.
I have more of an issue of April being played by Megan Fox. I don’t give a fuck if April is has a banana suit, a reporter, research assistant or 16 years old. Being played by Fox is the worst thing they could have done to her.
I didn’t read a TMNT cominc until i was 14 and was surprised to see the original April. I actually thought she was fly. LOL!!! But the cartoon April (or the one in the first five eps) did have me like “Damn!” back then.
