Teching on a pad vs. stick

On , he made it pretty clear that it’s better to have a stick than a pad for throw teching. Do you think so? If assigning a button to a throw macro as he says in the video, which button would work the best? Does the pad really allow for that much room for error in execution?

Thanks!

I don’t see how a pad or stick makes a difference in teching throws.

I depends what pad you use but I think stick is better in this case. When I go into training mode with input display and press throw repeatedly (on DS3), It usually comes out like this:

:lp::lk:
:lk:
:lp::lk:
:lp::lk:
:lk:

And so on…

With stick it’s much more acurate.

that’s because you’re not pressing it right

All it takes is practice to do it correctly

um my thumb is pretty long not freakishly long but long enough where i would mess up on a grab on a pad but on a stick i find it to be easier because i can use 2 fingers and use a os tech where I go by the rhythm of the block string. Its all about preference go with whatever you feel comfortable with. also training mode+patience can help you out too. ^^^^^ kelter skelter made a really good point embed that into your mind.

I know it’s because I mess up. The point is that it’s easier on stick because you can comfortably use two fingers. Main reason I mess up on pad is because the bottom of my thumb rests closely to the X button, so when I push down there’s more of a chance of hitting lk first and not getting a throw.

I can comfortably use whatever I practice enough to be comfortable with

i accidentally the whole comfortable

it’s… two buttons. Two adjacent buttons. It’s no easier on a stick than a pad. This is as simple as dashing.

comfortable

Just use what ever is comfortable with you. but imo stick is the best. just sayinn
